CAS(E) This Sketch #267 and Less Is More #369

I got a number of cards made this snowy, icy weekend and first up is one for CAS(E) This Sketch and Less Is More.  Here's the sketch I started with.
I had this heat embossed panel from CF in my drawer so I inked it up with some DOXs, trimmed it down and added what I "brought back" for the Less is More challenge.  Remember all those punches we used to have?  It's probably been 10 years since I used it and now I know why.  I had to use vellum for the lace because it wouldn't cut through anything else. I added a strip inked with Abandoned Coral to finish it off and gold embossed the sentiment from PTI.

Stay tuned for the rest of the week as I show off what I've been doing.  Well all but what I made for my Design Teams.  Those you'll see when the challenges go live. *wink*

I know what you mean about those punches but glad you persevered and brought it back. The edgings were so pretty but they never seemed strong enough to go through anything thicker than paper from what I remember. Thanks for playing along at Less is More and your card is so pretty and eye-catching. x

Bobby what a pretty sponged background, just beautiful!

This is lovely Bobby! I've had some punches that wouldn't even go through thin cardstock, so frustrating. Yours worked great on the vellum!

Mmmmm! this is delightful! it reminds me of a summer day when we used to enjoy multi-colored Sherbet! The vellum was perfect for this card but I'm with you those old punches could be a nuisance at times!

This is such a beautiful embossed piece and I love the colors you've used to sponge on it! I had that punch and I remember that it wouldn't cut through anything but the lightest cardstock! Pretty but frustrating! I'm glad you persevered and got that pretty vellum lace!

I'm so curious about this 'drawer' you keep finding these little treasures in, Bobby... but I have a drawer FULL of these punches! The only one I use now is the M. Stewart butterflies! Your pretty little vellum piece really packs a pretty punch here!

I love the vellum with that MS punch - I have it too. And yes, they won't punch through much of anything but lightweight paper. So frustrating. Your card is beautiful, love the colors and that background. Really pretty!!!

Not only do these famous hole punches take up a lot of space, but you also need a solid drawer because they are very heavy! I have a full drawer of them ! I love your beautiful blended background and the vellum lace looks so gorgeous on it. Finally it was worth it to dust out this border puncher ! Fabulous take on our challenge. Thanks so much for sharing and for playing along at Less is More.

So very pretty, Bobby ... gorgeous colours and blending ... that lacy border mimics the shape of the background blooms beautifully! Hugs, Anita :)
