I like nothing better than something colorful and Time Out wants us to make a colorful card so I'm more than happy to oblige.
These wonderful birthday banners from C9 were stamped in Onyx Black and colored with Inktense pencils.
I'm also going to send it over to Seize the Birthday where anything goes.

Inspired By . . #16
I pulled out an old die set to make a card for Inspired By after thinking about this photo for quite a while.
I concentrated on the 'hung' part and came up with this.
I cut the banners with what I thought looked like vintage linens, stapled them onto a clothesline and popped them up. The sentiment is computer generated making this card handy for someone going through a rough time. Unfortunately I know too many people who could use a card like this.
Thanks for dropping by. I hope your day goes well.

CAS(E) This Sketch #122
I'm going to be a great grandma again and I found out Saturday that Noah is going to have a little sister. Everyone is so excited and I decided to make a card for the happy parents.
Those darling Mama Elephant bunnies are watercolored with Spun Sugar DI. Some PTI polka dots and my NBUS houndstooth stamp from MFT in Memento Fog make up the banners. The sentiment is from HA.
My card is based on the challenge from CAS(E) This Sketch.
I'm way behind in reading emails, and even farther behind in my blogger reading. Sorry if I haven't been around to comment. I am behind in card making, too, so that will be my focus tomorrow, unless something gets in the way.

FMS #185, Card Concept #34 and ATSM #145
It seems like forever since I've made and posted a card. I have one today that's for three challenges. I used the sketch from Freshly Made to make a Mother's Day card (Addicted to Stamps - holiday) using the colors from The Card Concept,
The background paper is from PTI's Beautiful Brushstroke kit, cut with SSS stitched rectangles, as is the white layer. The roses and sentiment are from SSS's Best Mom Ever. Using both Worn Lipstick DI and VersaMark, I stamped and clear embossed the flowers on watercolor paper, then water-colored them with the DI. I did the same for the leaves in Peeled Paint. I also used Worn Lipstick to color my banner after clear embossing PTI's Polka Dot Basics. A vellum banner was added and the sentiment was stamped in HA Charcoal.

Happy Fourth!
Happy 4th of July to all my blogger friends in the USA. To those of you in other countries, Happy Day!
I have two very different cards to show you today. First up is the one I made for Mojo Monday. They are celebrating their 300th challenge with a whiz bang giveaway for those who link up. This is one of the sketch challenges I used to do all the time when I first started my blog. I still do it now and then but got away from it on a regular basis when I started making CAS cards.
The quilter in me loves to mix patterned papers and it's easy when they all come from one stack. This one is from Cosmo Cricket. I used the Distressed Stripes embossing folder on the banner piece and lightly inked the edges of everything with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. The sentiment from Hero Arts "It's Your Day" is stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa.
ETA: Thanks to Joyce, I'm also entering this into Moxie Fab World's Mixy-Matchy Challenge.
This next card is for the CASology challenge.
These little bursts where the closest thing I had to a firework. They are from the Accent Essentials cartridge. I cut them from white paper, ran them through my Xyron and poured glitter all over them. Now I know why I'm not a glitter girl. I had that stuff everywhere but up my nose. The back panel is embossed with the Baby's Breath folder because I thought they looked a little like bursts themselves. The sentiment from PTI's Big Birthday is stamped in Hero Arts Navy.
I'm also entering this into the gallery at the Online Summer Class. They had a pre-class sketch challenge that I based the above card on.
We're off to the lake tomorrow for the weekend so unless I get another card made tonight, I won't be back on until Monday. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Retro #67 and CASology #48
Two challenges - one card
Retro sketches set the image and CASology the theme.
The results:
The yellow center is embossed with a numbers collage folder and shadowed by a cut from Elegant Edges. The banner paper is from We R Memory Keepers and the sentiment stamp, done in Memento Rich Cocoa, is from Papertrey Ink. I tried to color my pearls but the brown marker came out coppery. I tried a darker brown calligraphy pen but the ink didn't stick. It colored them a little which is what you see at the top of the banner.
Thanks for stopping by. .

Banners and Flags
Yesterday we drove north to join in the 50th anniversary celebration of some friends. We met them in Gulf Shores 18 years ago only to find out they live a little over an hour from us here in Michigan. It was a beautiful day for a drive so we took the non-highway route, passing some lovely lakes on the way. You can see the card I made for them here.
Today's card is for Freshly Made.
The flags/banners are mostly from a paper pad from Seen and Noted by Pebbles. The sentiment is a stamp from PTI in HA Tide Pool and the twine is from My Craft Spot. The whole thing is popped up on cardstock embossed with the Seeing Spots folder. I kept the background white so I could also enter this in the challenge at CASual Fridays.
Today is dreary with rain showers in the offing. A wonderful day for paper crafting, I think. I hope you have a creative day wherever you are.
Thanks for stopping by to visit.
