MUSE #247, MUSE Christmas Visions #90 and Merry Monday #270

When I saw Kim's card for the MUSE this week I knew I had to play along with some of my NBUS.
Kim's Card
I started with some Bristol that I inked with Stormy Sky DI.  Next came the TH birch trees die and then the leaping deer from EH.  Instead of Rudolph and bells, I added holly and red bling to the deer's neck.  The sentiment from HLS is stamped on a tag from AE.

MUSE: Christmas Visions is looking for any holiday card and so I'm sending this to them as well as a second entry at Merry Monday where I used the first row vertical in their tic tac toe challenge.

I have more cards to post over the weekend but in case you don't get back here until after the holidays I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Tag You're It! #78

Jessica Frost-Ballas is the featured artist on this week's Tag You're It! and here is her inspiration.
It' so soft and pretty in pink.

I heat embossed the stag from CP and inked the tag with Spun Sugar Distress Ink, going heavier around the head.  Instead of snowflakes I added some pink bling that has been in my stash forever.

How are you inspired by Jessica's tag?  The Design Team has some lovely ones to inspire you too. We'd love to see you in the gallery with one of your own.

CAS(E) This Sketch #177 and Mod Squad

I had a chance to make some cards over the weekend and this one for CAS(E) This Sketch is up first.

The flourish is from GinaK and was in my Stamp of Approval kit.  I embossed it in silver along with the PB sentiment and then did something totally out of character for me - I blinged it!  There were circles where each of the pale blue rhinestones are.  Yes, they are pale blue but my photo editing didn't want them to appear that way evidently.

Mod Squad's theme is Wedded Bliss and I thought this would make a lovely wedding card so off it goes to the gallery there.

Thanks for dropping by.

Merry Monday #187 and HLS Christmas

You thought we were through with Christmas cards didn't you?  Well, we're not.  There are several challenges that will help you be ahead of the game when it's time to send out those cards again.  One of them is Merry Monday.  This week their challenge is to use plaid.  Yay!  One of my favorite fabrics.  I mean papers. ;)
Recipe: Old plaid paper,  LF stitched rectangles, a holly die from Poppystamps, Pine Feather cs, a sentiment from PTI, and a little bling for berries.  I don't usually use bling but I though this card called for it.

This next card is for the January Happy Little Stampers challenge - Jingle. This one took a while to conjure up because I didn't think I had any bell stamps or dies.  I ran across a tiny one from E by E but wondered what else I could put with it to fill out a card.  Then I spied a stamped ribbon from Avery Elle that I did when Michele visited and it all fell into place.
You can call this an embossed card.  Red for the ribbon and silver for the bells and HLS sentiment.

I'm so glad you stopped by.  Have a great weekend.

The Challenge #49

It's sketch week at The Challenge.
I need a masculine card for my 'little' brother who's birthday is the 17th.  This sketch gave me a great idea.
My NBUS Happy Birthday circle die from SSS was perfect for the middle and combined with a variety of gray papers and a few black embellies, it is a great card masculine card.

Thanks for dropping by and have a wonderful day.

JUGS #226

It's been a while since I played in the Just Us Girls Challenge but I needed another valentine and liked the sketch.

I knew I wanted to use the Confetti Garland by PTI for the strip across the card and cut it from some shimmer paper.  I hand cut the big heart and debated about what to put behind it.  I settled on the burgundy, cut with decorative edge scissors.  The pink is embossed with the chain link folder.  I'm not usually a bling girl but a little smudge left by some glue, and obviously my fingerprint, meant I needed to cover it up.  The card looks much better IRL.

Thanks for stopping by.

CASology #49

I thought the challenge at CASology this week would be rather fun.

There's so much you can do with fish although I've seen a number of other bloggers say they didn't have fish stamps.  Some of them were very creative in how they managed to manufacture fish from a variety of other stamps.  I don't have a fish stamp either but then I have very few image stamps.  Instead I went to my trusty Cricut and came up with this.

I cut the bowl from vellum using the Create a Critter cartridge.  I didn't like the fish that went with it so I used Kate's ABC to make this cute little gold (orange) fish.  You can't tell but I gave him some gllittery scales.  I inked the vellum with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to make water and used some blue rhinestones for the bubbles. The sentiment is computer generated.  It looks much cuter IRL.  I am having so much trouble getting really good photographs.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful evening and an even better tomorrow.

FM #90

If you saw yesterday's post, you saw a 4 1/4 square card, not a size I usually make.  This week at Freshly Made they had a square sketch challenge.
I went with the smaller format again.

The printed paper is from The Paper Studio, a 4 by 6 pack I bought some time ago.  The sentiment is from PTI stamped in Mememto Tuxedo Black.  To add to the celebratory feel, I added some bling to the center of some of the "bursts".   This was an easy sketch to follow and I will be using it again I'm sure.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day and please come back again.

Fusion #10

It took me a while to decide whether to use the sketch, the picture or to fuse on the Fusion Card Challenge.

I finally decided to fuse.

I need an anniversary card for my son and daughter-in-law and that became the impetus behind my card.  I cut the lace from vellum with a MS punch and colored it with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.  I used the same ink for the sentiment from Hero Arts. Some sparkle from rhinestones that are colored with a Bic marker and scoring across the bottom to keep a clean look and my card is done.  This isn't really their style so I may save it for someone else's anniversary.  That all depends on whether I get another inspiration before I have to send it out.  ;)

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day and please come back again.
