Just Us Girls #473 - Word Week

February is the month of love and that is what our hostess Ina has chosen for Word Week at Just Us Girls.
I was inspired by a card from Cornelia that you can see here.
I did the bokeh on pink paper with two different stencils and three different inks.  The panel was cut with a die from Concord and 9th and stamped with a flourishy heart from Penny Black.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

There are so many ways to interpret the word love on a card.  What will you do?  For inspiration, check out the Design Team and this month's guest, Lisa Elton.  You may have a chance to be our next guest designer.

TIME OUT #102

I was waiting for an order before I could finish my card for Time Out.  It arrived yesterday and here's my card.
It was the N&T 'love' die I was waiting for and it's cut from gold textured paper.  The striped paper is old, old but the heart is from shimmer paper I found at Walmart last Fall.  You can't see it in the photo but it does give a little extra something to the card.  I fiddled with several options for the 'you' but decided on this label from N&T and offset it.    Do you want to see the inspiration?
Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you do.

Just Us Girls #426 - Word Week

What better word for me to pick when you're all making valentines.
This is Bobby and the Design Team at Just Us Girls would like to see your cards based on love, whether valentines or for some other occasion.  I did a valentine.
I colored these darling RC pups with Zigs and put them on some PP.  The pun-y sentiment has been clear heat embossed for shine.

If you enter a card in the gallery you may be chosen Chic of the Week and be eligible to be our Guest Designer for April.  Our Guest Designer this month is Tenia Nelson.  Come and see what she and the rest of the team have for your inspiration.

Inspired By All the Little Things #78

These cookies look so beautiful I'd hate to eat them but they did inspire me to make a card for Inspired By All the Little Things.
Zigs were used to color the PB flower that was then fussy cut.  Not my favorite thing to do and I'm not very good at it but even with the tiny stem it came out great thanks to watching videos from Therese Calvird.  She's a champion fussy cutter.  The panel is embossed with a quatrefoil folder and mounted on Smoke cs.  The love sentiment could be either for an anniversary card or a valentine.

Well the snow is back.  I knew it was too good to last.  Ken is shoveling and I'm doing laundry with a little crafting between loads. I'm glad it's not the other way around. ;)

The Card Concept #83

I'm back  today with another card.  This one is for The Card Concept and their Parisian Postal challenge.  I knew I had  paper from a card kit I got a long time ago that would work beautifully as the base of my card.
The sentiment was also part of the SSS kit.  I mounted the die cut on fun foam and heat embossed the sub-sentiment.  The envelope is a PTI die cut from kraft and the hearts are from Lawn Fawn.  I think this fits in the clean and layered category.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week goes smoothly.

MUSE #169 and CASology #201

I'll be gone this weekend for the graduation and Open House of my triplet grandchildren so I have to post the last two cards I have finished tonight.

My good friend Michele is the Muse this week and it's her last time as she's leaving the design team.   I had to make a card.
I made a vellum envelope using a PTI die and put some hearts cut from LF floating out of it.  The sentiment is from CB.

Here's Michele's darling little card.

My next card is for CASology where the cue word is Sunshine.

This is about as clean and simple as you can get.  A smooshed journal card stamped with a HA sentiment.

I'll see you all when I get back.  I hope you all have a great weekend.

Merry Monday #190 and Inkspirational #101

Whilst perusing some card challenges I saw the word Polaroid  on the Stamping Smiles Tic-Tac-Toe board and remembered that I bought the PTI Polaroid die a long time ago and never used it.  I made two cards with it, neither of them eligible for the TTT challenge. :(  First up is one for Merry Monday. You are to use a Santa and would you believe I only have one Santa stamp, and a little one at that.
Santa is part of a snow globe set by YNS and I colored him with Distress Inks.  I inked up the MFT brick stencil and tore a piece of white paper to act as snow on my chimney top.  The sentiment is also from MFT.

Inkspirational had this lovely photo for their inspiration.
I loved that frame behind the love board and used my Polaroid to get the same feel.

After ink smooshing some watercolor paper, I die cut and edged it with gold embossing.  The love from SSS is three layers with the top one stamped with the W & W wood panel.  I wanted the same gold for the heart so it is embossed and placed where I cut the 'O' out.  If you notice some dimension on the heart it's because I first embossed a floral design on white but didn't like it and rather than start over I just embossed over it. I quite like the results.  The texture in the background is from PTI's linen texture plate.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope your weekend is going well.

CASology #170

Here's the challenge at CASology this week.  How easy is that?  And difficult at the same time because there are so many things you can do with a heart.  Here's what I did.
When Michele was here, she gave me a collection of acetate journal cards.  After I saw this card she made, I was inspired to look through them to see what I might be able to use for a card and this just said "Use me for the heart challenge."  And you know you have to make a shaker with acetate. *wink*  I put some gold and black hearts inside and then double black embossed the triple layered 'you' from SSS.  Where did I get black hearts?  you want to know.  Last April, Darnell sent me an anniversary card with all these cut out hearts, and bless her heart (no pun intended) she sent me the little hearts, too. I colored them black and added a little WOS.
The pie shapes are actually gold except for the black one with the heart.  Do you know how hard it is to photograph acetate?  What am I saying.  Of course, you do!  When I looked at the first picture I took, you could see my reflection in it.  Turning it at an angle helped but then it looks black.

I have to say thanks to all my crafty friends who inspire me and give me things that make this hobby so much fun.  Love you all.

The Card Concept #28

You know what they say about "best laid plans".  No?  Well they oft go awry.  My plan to do some quilting today has been offset by an appointment with the attorney and a number of things she needed me to do to prepare for my Dad's Medicaid  application.  I't a good thing I'm organized. Otherwise I'd be bald by now.

But that's not why you came here.  You came to see what I've been playing with in my craft room.  This card is for The Card Concept in the clean and layered category..

I was inspired by the roses and the wood box they are in, but I also saw the gray leaves and brown filler so  ta da....

I am a little disappointed in my wood.  It looked darker after I swiped my embossing folder with HA Soft Brown ink but the ink faded.  :(  The roses from Penny Black are stamped and sort of watercolored with Worn Lipstick.  The brown "things" are from CASual Friday, the leaves from MFT and the sentiment from PB.  How's that for mixing up my stamp sets?

ETA:  Thanks to Loll, I'm sending this over to Happy Little Stampers for their CAS embossing challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you accomplished all you set out to do today.

Curtain Call - Soft Scarf

Here's the inspiration photo for Curtain Call.

It took a while but an idea finally came to me.  While looking for something else, my eye fell on my MFT burlap background stamp.  Now if that doesn't say texture, I don't know what does.

I swiped Picked Raspberry, Weathered Wood and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks across the stamp, put my cream cardstock on top and rubbed it all over.  Other ingredients include a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle, SSS stitched flag and heart, and My Craft Spot sentiment, all popped up on foam.

This is the last card I have ready to post.  I'd better get busy. Thanks for stopping by.  If you need me I'll be in my craft room.
