Inkspirational #170

Inkspirational has a craft theme for their challenge.
This is usually how I feel when I'm in my craft room.  I forget about everything, even time, when I'm in there coloring, stamping or creating.  The sentiment is from Right at Home and the images from WPlus9, watercolored with Distress Inks.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you get a chance to escape to your craft room.

CAS(E) This Sketch #252

I wanted to do something different with the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch.
My first inclination was to cut strips of PP and follow the sketch to a T.  Then I pulled out a card for my granddaughter's birthday and thought the stamp set I used for it would fit into the sketch.
She loved her card and I gave her art supplies as a gift.  I think I'll save this one as a thank you when she presents me with one of her paintings. ;)

Everyone arrived home safely from our Christmas celebration although one family made it just before I 94 across southern Michigan was closed between their exit and the next.  Too many reckless drivers caused a multi-car pile up.  By the time one son made it home to Traverse City he had 10 inches of snow in his driveway.  We all had a wonderful time with lots of good food, games and laughter.

Here's wishing you all a wondrous year in 2018.  May your troubles be small and your blessings be many.

Just Us Girls #407 - Color Week

Our host Sue has chosen the following colors for Color Week at Just Us Girls:
I love primary colors.  They remind me of painting and that influenced my choice of stamps.
A WPlus9 Stamp set colored with Distress Inks make up the background. The sentiment was computer generated.

What do you think of when you think of red, yellow and blue?  Head on over to see what the rest of the Design Team and our guest designer Darnell have made using these colors.  We hope they inspire you to make a card for the gallery.  If you do you may be chosen Chic of the Week and have a chance to be our guest designer in October.

CASology #206

Art.  One of my favorite things.  My daughter is a Middle School art teacher and my granddaughter just accepted a job as a High School art teacher, part time, after a 3 year sabbatical to start her family.  This card is going to her when she starts up in the Fall.  It's also going to Casology.
I finally got the Wonky Stitched Rectangles and used one to cut a panel to put my PTI paintbrushes on.  They are colored with Inktense Pencils and I added a little Pico Embellisher to make the paint shine   The sentiment is from WPlus9.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you have time to make pretty things.

CAS(E) This Sketch #168

I'm loving my card for CAS(E) This Sketch this week.
It's great when a card turns out even better than you expect.  The background is a TH stencil sponged with Distress Inks.  The palette and brush are from WPlus9 and the sentiment from PS. This is the way I'm feeling with all your thoughts, prayers and beautiful sympathy cards.  This is indeed a caring community of bloggers.

Love and Hugs,

Curtain Call - Mason Jar, ATCAS #70 and SSS Wednesday

Yesterday it was three cards for three different challenges. Today it's one card for three different challenges.  It's not often that that happens for me.

PTI has a jar stamp and a ton of great images to fill them.  I picked the paint brushes to go along with all the school challenges and colored them with my Ziggies.  My daughter, who has been teaching 7th grade Language Arts for years, has switched to teaching Middle School art.  She's a fabulous artist, and a great teacher so I know she'll do well.  And it will give her time to work on her own projects.

Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge

It's that time again.  Time for what?, you say.  For the Papertrey Ink monthly blog hop.  This is the inspiration photo.

I thought about this for a while and considered inking squares or some other shape.  I thought about putting color under a coverplates or stamping an image in various colors.  Then I remembered the paper that came with the Masterpiece Make-it Market Kit and the decision was made.

All the stamps are from the set.  I cut a stitched rectangle from SSS to place my sentiment on, popping it up with foam tape.

Just Us Girls #284

I'm just squeaking under the wire with this card for Just Us Girls - Splatters.  I had the idea so sat down after supper and made it in half an hour.

I used a sentiment from Hero Arts and large splotches and brushes from Paper Smooches.
