CAS(E) This Sketch #256

What do you make of this sketch?
I think Chrissy is out to challenge us at CAS(E) This Sketch.  I mean REALLY challenge us.  I got an idea and it executed so I hope it fits.
I inked photo paper with DIs so the balloons would already be glossy, using a SSS die to cut them.  They are in the hands of the darling bear from EbyE.  I love how this turned out and may make more.  Wouldn't it be cute to use up some patterned paper for the balloons?

I'm also sending this to Little Red Wagon where the theme is 'Birthday Balloons.'

I'm glad you dropped by and hope your day is going well.

Less Is More #243 and Time Out #41

This card is probably not what you'd expect from a challenge whose theme is "Something Shiny".  In fact, I'm not sure you can even see the shine in my photo but it's there.

The card is for Less Is More but it uses the sketch from last week's CAS(E) This Sketch, which I loved and wanted to use again.  I inked up glossy photo paper which gives the shine and then cut the leaves from MFT.  Now that I think about it, I could have embossed the sentiment in gold for even more shine but I wasn't thinking that at the time.

Time Out is having a fall theme and so I'm sending this card there, too.  Their actual challenge is "Autumn . . . the year's last, loveliest smile" so you can use any of those words to inspire you.

ETA:  Thanks Sarah for reminding me of the Uniko Fall challenge.  I'm linking up there, too.

I'm so glad you dropped by.  The weekend is upon us.  I hope you have a great one.

CTS #138

A quick post before the door closes on CAS(E) This Sketch.

MFT''s television die triple embossed to give it that shiny tv look.  The screen is photo paper, which also has a shiny finish, inked with Peacock Feathers DI and stamped with Staz-on.

Glad you stopped by.

MCS + CASTS + Noah

I have a busy week so I'm hurrying like crazy to get cards made for all the challenges I want to enter.  It seems like I say this every week.  How did I ever get things done when I was working full time?  Was I better organized or did my younger brain just work more efficiently?

It was probably the second of the two since I taxed my brain quite a bit to come up with today's card for CAS(E) this Sketch.  I love to make tags but wanted something different.

Tags was also the challenge at My Craft Spot so I got a twofer.

The tag is cut from Plantin Schoolbook out of photo paper.  I then used Distress Ink in Evergreen Bough, Broken China and Salty Ocean to color it.  I even used it on the ribbon since I didn't have any that would work.  The strip behind is embossed with the grosgrain ribbon from Die-namics.  I saw Ardyth  use this and fell in love.  It doesn't really show up in this picture but it looks like real ribbon.  The sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Birthday Wishes.

For those of you who were waiting with me, Noah Michael Geis arrived yesterday (Sunday) at 3:16 pm.  Mom and baby - and daddy - are doing well.  He knew he wanted to be born on the Sabbath and that's what he held out for.  Sunday's child is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.  Thank goodness for technology.  They Face Timed me last night so I could see them all.  Next I think there's some Skypeing to do.  I'll post a picture soon.
