Muse CV #66 and CAS(E) This Sketch #194

I've been busy crafting up a storm and I'm going to post two cards today for two different challenges before I lose track of deadlines and miss them. You don't ever do that, do you? ;)

First up is Muse Christmas Visions.  I haven't played with them in a while but Chriss's card was so cute and I had a stamp that wanted to play along.
The snowman and sentiment are from Inky Antics colored with Intense pencils, something else I haven't used in a while.  A little Spectrum Noir glitter pen was essential on the star, tinsel and fur part of the hat.  I wish my photography was better so you could see it.

Chriss's card
The next card is for CAS(E) This Sketch and I'm not crazy about it but it is what it is.
I tried a non-traditional color scheme with my W & W holiday trimmings stamps.  Guess why there's a strip of aqua mist paper across the top.  Yup, I goofed on my HLS sentiment and this was the only way I could think to fix it.  Actually I think it adds a little dimension so I'm okay with it.

I have quite a stack of Christmas cards already and I'm not sure when I made them unless it was last December after I had already sent out my cards.  I hope you've gotten a good start on yours.

AAA Cards #75

There is an inspiration photo over at AAA Cards that said Doodle Buds (WPlus9) to me and so I made a card.

Polka dot papers and Wonky Stitches pulled it all together.  Cute as a doodlebud. ;)

Thanks for dropping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #258

I needed a baby card for my cousin's daughter who just had a little boy.  I used Freshly Made Sketches as my starting point.

A little quilted blanket holds the Uniko bunny, colored with DI and fussy cut. The sentiment from SSS is the only baby one I have but it worked great.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week gets off to a great start.

CASology #219 and Less Is More #298

I had this card made for CASology (Spooky) and it ended up being just the thing for the Less Is More challenge (Spiders).
What could be spookier than a jar of spiders, especially when they begin to crawl out.  Eek is right. A number of companies played together to make this happen.  PTI jar and spider, W&W web and word, and CP for the stripe background.

Thanks for dropping by and have a great weekend.

Just Us Girls #365

It's time for Color Week at Just Us Girls and the colors Judy has chosen are those of Autumn.
I could have done some leaves - again - but went a different way instead, inspired by this card from Yana Smakula.

The rust colored wreath is from SSS with smooshed leaves from MFT and a sentiment on gold from PTI.  The background is embossed with a fabric folder matted on some more rust cs.

There are so many ways you can use these colors this time of year.  Check out our guest designer Jaydee and the rest of the team for inspiration. Entering a card makes you eligible for Chic of the Week and the possibility of being a guest designer in December.

Merry Monday #217

I haven't had a chance to play with Merry Monday since they started back after summer break.  This week they are asking for vintage/retro cards and I went the retro path.

I white embossed the pine branches from Essentials by Ellen on aqua mist cs.  The little ornaments from the same set were silver embossed and colored with Zigs.  I was inspired by this photo I found on the internet.
I white embossed a sentiment from MSE.  Inside it says . . ."Have a happy holiday" all from the 1958 song by Brenda Lee.  I'd say 1958 qualifies for retro.

Thanks for dropping by.

CAS Watercolor and The Flower Challenge #1

I have a card for two new challenges in blogland.  I've made cards for each of these before but this one combines both - CAS Watercolor Autumn and The Flower Challenge.
The flowers from PB were stamped on bristol board and colored with Zigs. The sentiment from MFT says it all.  Thanks Loll and Bonnie and Aileen for bringing these new challenges to us.

And thank you for dropping by.

Tag You're It! #58

Leigh Penner is the guest designer for this Tag You're It! Challenge and she made this tag for our inspiration.
I loved the gray background and started there with my SSS tag.

I used MFT Fall Florals and PTI Happy Day for my hang-off-the-side images and sentiment.

The Design Team is waiting with more inspiration for you so head on over to Tag You're It! and enter your card in the gallery after see what they have to offer.

See you there.

Fusion - Chairs, The Heart Desires #5 and Addicted to CAS #98

One card, three challenges.  How often does that happen?

I started with the photo for Fusion, stacking my images in similar colors
which are almost the same as those on The Heart Desires.
Addicted to CAS has a watercolor challenge and that made the final decision. Distress Inks and Altenew was all I needed plus a sentiment from MFT.
That's it for today.  Thanks for dropping by.

Addicted to Stamps and More #215

As Halloween approaches, challenges are gearing up for it and that includes Addicted to Stamps and More.  This is photo challenge week.

Spooky, no?  But it doesn't have to be a spooky card.  Look at mine.

Stamps from Penny Black and Winnie & Walter
Or better yet, go to ATSM and check out what the Design Team has done.

There are digital images up for grabs from our sponsors for this challenge: 3 from QKR Stampede and 2 from  Stamplorations.

Will we see you in the gallery?

CAS(E) This Sketch #193 and The Flower Challenge #1

Blog Alert! If you came just to see my card, scroll down.

Some of you may have noticed that I haven't posted many cards except for my Design Team obligations and am way behind in my commenting on your wonderfully creative cards.  I thought it was time for a little explanation.  My parents passed away within four months of each other and I was left with the responsibility of selling their house and cleaning out 55 years of accumulation.  Two of my brothers and my sister, who all live out of state,  took things they wanted and what was left was handled in several different ways. My sister and I had an estate sale in August which went better than I expected and any furniture that was left I posted on Craig's List.  The local service agency picked up a lot of things, there were numerous trips to Goodwill and five trips to the dump.  We were able to donate the washer and dryer to a young family whose house burned and the furniture that didn't sell on Craig's List is now at a local online auction house.  I had stored a lot of things at their house when we downsized 13 years ago so we had to clean out and rearrange our garage, shed and house to accommodate it all. At first we thought we'd have to build another shed but somehow we squeezed it all in.  We closed on the house on Thursday and now things are getting back to normal.  You'll be seeing me around a lot more.

Now it's time for my card for CAS(E) This Sketch.
The dotted diamond from MFT is the background for Altenew's hibiscus watercolored with Distress Ink.  The sentiment is from PB. I love how the dots tie in.

I'm also going to make this my second entry at The Flower Challenge.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week is off to a great start.

Time Out #67 and The Flower Challenge #1

The Time Out challenge this time is for Breast Cancer Awareness.  Your card should reflect the cause and/or friendship.  There are extra points if you use pink and embossing so of course I had to go the extra.

The background is created with a stamp from Catherine Pooler, embossed in white, and inked with some Spun Sugar Distress Ink.  The flowers are from Altenew stamped in PTI inks.  I added a little bit of the Raspberry Fizz cs along the top and side edge to match the flowers.  The sentiment is a freebie I got from A-Muse Studios a number of years ago called 'Fight Like a Girl'.

Did you hear there's another new challenge in blogland?  This one I'm excited about because I have oodles and oodles of flower stamps.  Yes, this new challenge is The Flower Challenge created by Aileen Ryan. This card will be my first entry there.

I'm glad I finally got some crafting time.  I hope you get some too.

Just Us GIrls #364

Good morning.  It's trend week at Just Us Girls and Sue has picked pineapples.  You see them everywhere.
I thought I was going to have to pass on this one until I found a little pineapple in my MFT Polynesian Paradise set.

I stamped them all over some Bristol board and colored them with Zigs. Pineapples are a sign of hospitality so I used that sentiment from the set and white embossed it on a leftover cut from the TV set I used here.

Won't you join our Guest Designer Jaydee and the rest of the Design Team by making a pineapple card?  Go to Just Us Girls to see what they've made to inspire you and then link your card to the gallery.  You may be chosen Chic of the Week with a chance to be a guest designer in December.

CAS Watercolor #1

There's a new challenge in town.  CAS Watercolor is a sister to challenge CAS Mix-up and the brain child of Bonnie and Loll.  I'm thinking this will be a very successful endeavor.  The theme for this first challenge is Autumn.

The stamp from Penny Black is watercolored with Distress Inks.

Thanks for dropping by.
