Just Us Girls #405 - Word Week

Lisa is the host for Word Week Challenge at Just Us Girls and the word she chose is
That's right.  Shower. Any kind of shower.  I used what I had and made a baby shower card.  I don't need one but when I do it will be ready.
I started with a panel inked with DOX in Broken China and cut with the SSS frame die.  I laid the SSS rain stencil over it and blotted with a wet towel. I'm glad the look is subtle because I just realized it's on upside down. 😞
I silver embossed the handle of the MFT umbrella. and added the tag and sentiment from My Craft Spot (closed).  Not my best work but I'm out of practice.  Being away from home has interfered with my card creativity.

The ever lovely and talented  Darnell is our guest designer this month and she and the rest of the design team have some wonderfully 'wet' cards for your inspiration.  Take a peek and then create a shower card of your own. You may be chosen Chic of the Week with a chance to be our October guest designer.

Addicted to Stamps and More #253

That's right!  It's time to make a holiday card for Addicted to Stamps and More this week.  I'm behind in my Christmas card making so that's the direction I took.
The stamps are from The Ton that I got in a CP Stamp of Approval box and the design came from a card that was posted on their blog.  I used Altenew inks for the holly and sentiment and Delicata gold for the flourishes.

We look forward to seeing your holiday card in the gallery.

Just Us Girls #404

It's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls and Ina wants us to use something old or something new.  How easy it that?  We all have things in our stash that we haven't used in forever even though we're always getting new stuff which you can use too. 😁 So get inspired and join us for this week's challenge.
For my card I used a new/old stamp.  I've had it for quite a while but I'm not sure I've ever used it.
The daisies are part of the PTI jar filler sets and while looking in their shop I saw the die and didn't remember I had it.  I cut them from Bristol and colored with my Zigs.  The rest of the products are a collaboration from a number of companies: stitched rectangle from LF, tag die from SSS, sentiment from CB and stencil from TH.  Isn't it nice how they all work together?

I hope you'll check out what the rest of the design team and our guest Aileen have made and then use some of your new/old stuff to make a card for the gallery.  You may be chosen Chic of the Week and have a chance to be our guest designer in September.

Addicted to CAS #116

Kel is the host for Addicted to CAS this week and she has chosen the word
I recently made two card featuring bicycles but since it's the only stamp I have with wheels I had to come up with an different way to use it again.
The cat and dog come with the SSS stamp set so I put them on the bike as the 'good friends' in the sentiment.  Everything was colored with Zigs.

We'd love to see your CAS card with wheels.  Need a refresher on what CAS means?

Check out the Design Team for inspiration and enter your card in the gallery for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate from Happy Little Stampers.

Just Us Girls #403 - Photo Week

It's my turn to host Just Us Girls and for photo week I picked what I thought was a good summer time picture.
This almost made my mouth water.    There are a number of elements you can use to make a card but I went with the watermelon.  Shh.  Here's a secret.  I didn't have any watermelon stamps to I used this as an excuse to get one.  I looked and looked and finally decided on a set from Sunny Studios.
I cut a white and gingham panel that I placed over some Desert Storm that had been embossed with a basket weave pattern.  The watermelons were colored with Zigs and the smaller one popped up.

The Design Team  and our guest designer Aileen have some wonderful inspiration for you.  Why not check them out before you get busy on your card. ;)  You may be chosen Chic of the Week and have a chance to be our guest designer in September.

CASology #258

I have a quick post and even quicker card for CASology this week.
The MFT diamond border was stamped on Soft Stone with Wet Cement.  It lacked something so I added pearl embossing powder.  This is a little better view of the shine.
A sentiment from HA and it's a great masculine card for my stash.

Thanks for dropping by.

CAS Watercolor July

I always have the best of intentions with the monthly challenges and somehow time gets away from me and I only end up making one card when I could be doing more.  I did get one done for the CAS Watercolor Challenge.

I stamped the butterfly from Gina K that was in a CP Stamp of Approval kit and picked five blue Distress Inks to color them.  The sentiment is from PB.

Getting ready to head off to the lake again.  Next year I'm getting Wifi up there. ;)

Less is More and AAA Cards Collaboration

Less is More and AAA Cards have combined for a two week challenge featuring cards on colored cardstock.  I made it easy on myself by using a card I stamped a Michele's a long time ago using MFT's All Over Roses.
They were stamped in black on Neenah Desert Storm and I used my Worn Lipstick DOXs to paint just three of the roses.  The sentiment is also from MFT.  This may not be CAS enough for either challenge but now I have another anniversary card in my stash.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you do.

CAS(E) This Sketch #230

I couldn't pass up a chance to play at CAS(E) This Sketch so here's my last minute card.
Lots of gold embossing on an image by PTI, sentiment by HA and chicken wire by MFT.  Zigs colored in the sunflower and it's all on Ripe Avocado cardstock.
Busy times mean quick posts.  I'll be back tomorrow with another one.

Thanks for dropping by.

Addicted to Stamps and More #251

Our most popular challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More is the Anything Goes challenge.  I wonder why? ;)  Maybe because there are no parameters?  So there's no excuse not to enter.

For my card I used one of my NBUS Stamp of Approval sets.
I know someone who's going to love the colors used 😉- Fog, Smoke and Charcoal with a touch of black for the MSE sentiment.  I realized too late that I had Soft Granite or I would have used it too.

Check out what the rest of the Design Team has done to inspire you and then enter your card in the gallery.  We'd love to see you there.

Just Us Girls #402

It's Color Week at Just Us Girls and the colors Nancy chose are:
I had a stamped panel in my UFO box and it worked perfectly for the colors.
The flowers are from Altenew watercolored with Distress Inks and the sentiment is from PTI.

We hope you will join in the challenge and make a card using pink, dark pink and blue, with neutrals like black, gray and brown if necessary.  If you do, you may be chosen Chic of the Week and be in the running for a guest designer spot.

The Design Team and guest designer Aileen have some wonderful cards for you to see so please go check them out.

CAS Mix-Up July

July is almost half over and I just got a card made for the July CAS Mix-Up challenge.  I had so much fun with the tissue paper techniques that Loll showed in her video but I should have worn gloves.  I had as much ink on my fingers as on the tissue.  I planned a panel that I hoped would look good as a die cut flower and I'm happy with the result.
The dies are from Altenew and the sentiment from EBE.  I finally got a chance to use one of the embossed panels that Bonnie so generously sent me after I gushed over it several times.

In a conversation with Loll, she mentioned using a paper towel that had mopped up leftover ink from her craft sheet to make a background by laying it down on hot press watercolor paper and spraying it.  I quickly pulled my paper towel out of the wastebasket and loved the pattern that was on it. I tried the technique with mixed media paper and it didn't come out very bright so I came up with another technique. Introducing "the paper towel background".
I thought this looked like a flower garden so using a sponge I spread school glue all over my cardstock and glued the paper towel to it.  When it was dry I popped up the frame and added the hollyhocks from PTI and sentiment from EBE.  From now on I may be saving all my mop towels.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you take time to try a new technique.

CASology #257

There are so many ways to use the cue word "Wish" for the CASology challenge but the easiest for me was to use it as part of my sentiment.  I found out I have at least three "Make a Wish" sentiments but I chose this one from SSS.
I heat embossed it in white and then taped off either side to do some DOX inking on a one layer card. The paper tape didn't stick well and the ink went outside the lines. To save it I cut it into a small panel and mounted it on a black scrap.  Since it was no longer one layer I added a candle from PTI for fun. Great birthday card for any age.

Thanks for dropping by.

Time Out #87

Cornelia always has such great cards and this one of hers is the card we're to CASE at Time Out. Isn't it fun and colorful?
Of course my Crazy Birds stamps from TH came to mind immediately but they did to some of the other DT members and a few of the gallery entries too.  I picked one that hadn't been used so far and made this:
Since I used a sentiment from Altenew's cardinal set, I thought the music embossing folder would be a great background for her.

Thanks for dropping by.

Inkspirational #138

When I saw Inkspirational's word prompt this week I knew exactly what stamp set I'd use.  I only needed to figure out how.  I started with the sentiment and this is what happened.
MFT's The Whole Herd

I know just who this is going to, too.

Thanks for dropping by.
