Less Is More #350

It's One-Layer week at Less Is More.  One-Layer with Stars.  How easy is that?
First step: Ink a stencil from Heidi Swapp with VersaMark, add a few extra stars from W&W and a sentiment from the new CP Stamp of Appproval.  Second: heat emboss in white.   Third: Blend Distress Oxides all over and spritz some water with Perfect Pearls in it.  Done.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you do.

Addicted to Stamps and More #263

Well today was certainly a learning experience.  Carol let me know that my ATSM post (seen below) had been scheduled for the wrong week - a week later that it was supposed to go live. I wasn't thinking clearly and didn't realize my card actually was on the Challenge blog, just not linked, so I deleted it.  Oops.  When I saw the card was there I had to try to recapture my post.  I'm glad Google has an answer for everything.  Some of the recommendations didn't work but I was able to go to Feedly.com and see my original post which I copied and pasted below.  That explains the different format.

It's time for another challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.
I got my idea for this card from one made by Ardyth that you can see here.  I cut the SSS ornaments from sticky paper and used the negative to color them with Distress Ink using a finger dauber.  The hangers were stamped with silver ink and Perfect Pearls  were applied for a little shimmer.  After stamping the sentiment from SSS I thought it still needed something so I colored a scrap of cs with the same silver ink as the hangers and added it to the bottom of the card.

Now that you've seen my contribution, head on over to Addicted to Stamps and More to see what the rest of the Design Team has for you.  We hope it will inspire you to enter a card in the challenge.

CAS(E) This Sketch #243

Sometimes sketches are easier when they're more detailed.  The simpler they are the more choices there are for images to use.  This week's CAS(E) This Sketch was a simple one but I narrowed down my image to this:
You need to see the glitter to get the full effect of this snowy tree from TH.
Sentiment: Penny Black. Die cut hill: SSS Ink: Tumbled Glass , Onyx Black
A glue pen and glitter added a touch of snow to the hill too.

Today's the day for lunch with some classmates and then it's back to cleaning out closets and drawers.  I'm in the purging mode so I need to keep it going.  I think I need to purge my stamps too but that will have to wait until later when I can decide what to do with them.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a wonderful day!

Essentials by Ellen Mix It Up Challenge and The Flower Challenge #13

The minute I saw the United We Flourish collaboration between Ellen and Altenew I knew I had to have those poppies.  I've use them to make a card for the Mix It Up Challenge.
I stamped the poppies in Altenew ink and fussy cut one side of them so they could hang over a polka dot panel.

Red, black and white are my favorite colors and poppies are one of my favorite flowers so I'm also sending this card to The Flower Challenge, where they are celebrating their first birthday.  Should I win I would like The Ton gift certificate.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week is off to a great start.

CASology #270

Do you remember a poem about a purple cow?  It goes:  "I never saw a purple cow.  I never hope to see one.  But I can tell you anyhow, I'd rather see than be one."  I have a purple cow that has been with me since childhood.
I've always love him and the poem and they were the inspiration for my card for CASology this week.
The sentiment was computer generated.   'Unique' sounds much better to me than 'odd' which is the cue word,

It's turned rather cool here.  In fact it will be in the 30's tomorrow morning.  I knew this wonderful weather was too good to last but I can't complain.  We've had a beautiful Indian Summer.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you do.

Merry Monday #260

Merry Monday has a sketch for this week challenge.
I just happened to have a panel that would work beautifully for the top layer of the sketch.

Last week Karen (Snippets) did a wonderful poinsettia card using Gelatos. You can see her card here.  I immediately had to try her technique using the few Gelatos that I got in a close-out kit a while back.  I placed the stamp from PB in my MISTI, rubbed the Gelatos onto the stamp, spritzed it with water before stamping, repeating the process until I was satisfied and then clear embossed it. I mixed some Inca Gold with water for the splatters.  The bottom panel and the sentiment are from glitter paper.  You can see all the shimmer better below.

Thanks for dropping by.  It makes me happy when you do.

AAA Cards #100

I've been having so much fun creating that I almost forget to post my cards.  Today's card is for  AAA Cards.

Pretty basic sketch don't you think?  I ended up switching the sketch around a little to make way for my quilt strip. I hope that's okay.
I'm still in the prayer card making mode.  This one uses a WPlus9 stamp done in gray and peach with quilt embossing.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great weekend.

Addicted to CAS #122

It's my time to be the host at Addicted to CAS and the word I chose is appropriate for this time of year.

The PB pumpkins were stamped on Bristol cs and colored with Zigs.  The sentiment is from  Jillian Vance.

The sponsor for this challenge is Create a Smile and you can receive a €15 gift card if you are chosen the winner.  Head on over to see what the design team has made and get some inspiration for your own card.

We'd love to see you in the gallery.

Just Us Girls #115

It's trend week at Just Us Girls and our host Angie has chosen this trend:
There are so many ways to go with this trend but I wanted to use a new die.  I'm not real happy with the way it turned out but here it is.
I knew I wanted to put the pumpkins and date from W&W in the cutouts on this die.  The scallop is part of the set and I backed it with some old, old, old paper.  Then the boo boo.  I got something on the upper corner of the card.  I had already popped it up on foam and couldn't didn't want to do it over so I inked it up to cover it.  The colors tie in with the paper but maybe I should have done more.  I don't know but whichever of my grandkids gets this for Halloween won't care.

There is a lot of inspiration on peekaboos and windows by the Design Team and guest designer Karola over on the blog.  If you enter a card in this challenge you may be chosen Chic of the Week and have a chance to be a guest designer in January.

We hope to see you there.

Less Is More #349

Squeaking in under the wire for the challenge at Less Is More - Hot and Spicy.  I had an inspiration last night, played around with alcohol ink and finished up the card this morning.  I waited until the sun came through my craft room window to take a picture.
The bird and branch are from PB and the sentiment from Altenew.  My Yupo paper was big enough for a second card.
I used another Altenew sentiment and a die from AliExpress.  Now I have two more cards to add to my prayer stash.  It's going down too fast.

Thanks for dropping by.

Inspired By All the Little Things #67

I was looking at my challenge list and realized I hadn't checked out this week's Inspired By All the Little Things.  With Darnell as host, and Bonnie as guest designer, I had to make a card so that's what I've been doing this morning.  Here's the inspiration photo.

I was inspired by the little white pumpkins and fall leaves.

The word die from CP was cut three times which explains the blurriness.  Some patterned paper for the leaves,  pumpkins and something for them to sit on was all I needed to pull it together.

Thanks for dropping by. I may be back later with more cards after I retake the photos.  Even with the light box and photo editing program, they aren't turning out as well as I'd like.  It's amazing how things change when seeing them on the big screen.  And some things barely visible to the naked eye look like big mistakes.

Time Out #93

Time is running out and I almost forgot I wanted to enter the Time Out challenge where the theme is Breast Cancer Awareness.  They want a card about friendship and/or awareness with the optional twist of pink.
Since the challenge is sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays, I used their Tin Roof stamp for my background.  It's embossed in white and watercolored with Picked Raspberry.  The sentiment from A-Muse is stamped in Picked Raspberry DOX.

Thanks for dropping by.

CAS(E) This Sketch #242

I have a masculine card for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch.
I combined some Christmas paper, a great black and red plaid with this wonderful moose die that I borrowed from Michele.  The sentiment is from HLS.
That's all for today.  Thanks for dropping by.

The Card Concept #79

Today's card is for The Card Concept.  Michele challenged me to make a card for this challenge when she visited and she's already posted hers.  Mine took a little longer but here it is for the Clean and Layered category.
I recently ordered the Hellebore stamp set from WPlus9 and was thrilled with the way it stamped.  I used those on my card in place of the pumpkins in the photo.  The background die is gray popped up over cashmere.  Another prayer card for my stash.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week is off to a good start.

Freshly Made Sketches #307

The lovely Michele has come and gone :( and my craft table is full of bits and pieces (Get it?  Bits and Pieces) that we shared.  I have a number of cards in the making but this one for Freshly Made Sketches is done.
Michele has this amazing Gina Marie pinecone die.  I smooshed some brown Distress Inks and she applied Inca Gold to some kraft paper and together we made these lovelies.  They make perfect decorations for the wreath, along with some greens and a ribbon with the sentiment embossed in gold.

Now that my Mojo is in overdrive I hate to take a break but we're off today to visit my step-son and his family and party the night away at a wedding reception for their son who was married two weeks ago in Jamaica.  It should be a fun weekend.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you have a great weekend too.

Just Us Girls #114 - Word Week

Sue is our host at Just Us Girls for Word Week and the word is
There are so many ways to go with this and it took a while for me to decide how to proceed.  I finally pulled out an old stamp set from Avery Elle that I'm not sure I've used, at least not these little lights.

I stamped the sentiment from C&9, stamped the bulbs and drew lines to connect them to a line drawn across the top.  Using a finger dauber I added Distress Ink to the bulbs.

The Design Team and guest designer, Karola Rehnstrom have plenty of inspiration for you over on the JUGS blog.  Check them out and then make a card to enter in the gallery.  You may be chosen our Chic of the Week and have a chance at being a guest designer.

See you there.

Merry Monday #259

I depend on Merry Monday to help me get my Christmas cards done.  This week they want to see a Christmas tree on a card.  The difficulty is choosing which tree to use.
I decided to go non-traditional and use the bottle trees from EE.  I cut a square frame, stamped a sentiment from the set and stenciled snow with glitter paste.  While it was drying I stamped the trees, masking off the bottoms to stamp later in black.  I added some gray to the bases and when that wasn't enough I added more stenciled snow to the top and glued glitter to and around the trees.  The top panel is popped up on fun foam.

I'm so excited!  Michele is coming today!!! We'll be doing some sharing of crafty supplies so stay tuned to what we make with each others stash.

I'm so glad you dropped by.  It would be nice if you could drop in in person too.
