Keep Time to the Music
When I saw the cue word for CASology this week the first thing I, and probably a lot of bloggers, thought of was a clock. Too predictable. The next thing to come to mind was music. I play in the handbell choir, and also play the hammered dulcimer, so I know how important timing is when playing music. I have a music embossing folder so I ran that through on white paper and it sat there for almost a week while I tried to come up with a sentiment. Here's what I did.
I had no stamps about time or music and I didn't have room for a long quote. I looked at my newly purchased Christmas stamps from My Craft Spot and "Joy to the World" popped out at me. It fit perfectly between the staffs, is one of my favorite Chrismas carols, and speaks to this time of the of year. I embossed it with gold powder and layered the music on gold sparkly paper.
Here is a close-up so you can see the sparkle.
I think this will make a great gift card for the bell choir director.

Very Pretty!Beautiful embossing!

I always remember this description of music that I heard somewhere - a perfect mixture of sound, silence and time. And that's what your card reminded me of! I'm glad you found TIME to play along with us at CASology this week! (PS my mom wants me to make handbell themed cards to sell at the vendors night at her symposium next May - any advice/supplies that you think are appropriate would be most appreciated!)
ReplyDeleteLOVE your take on the cue word! How perfect to use music!! :)

Thanks so much for joining us at CASology this week!
This is really beautiful and very unique, Bobby. It's definitely a winner! I could never create anything this beautiful hammered! You know I couldn't resist that one, but seriously, since I can't pin this, it's getting copied into my favorites folder. Well done!!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant take on the challenge....love how you've thought 'out of the box!'
