You could stamp a plaid, use a designer paper or in my case, emboss.
After using my burlap ef, I rummaged through my UFO drawer and found a piece of inked photo paper. I used that to cut the MFT word die and layered it on four more. A scrap of black embossed with W & W finishes the sentiment for my CAS(E) This Sketch card.
