My Cricut's Back!

No card post today.  I've been gone all day, first to the dentist and then Christmas shopping.  I got most of it done but wore myself out.

When I got home, there was a package waiting.  I had to send my Expression back to Provocraft because it wasn't cutting correctly.  That was a month ago and I've been getting by with my Baby Bug.  It works great but there are a few things it doesn't do.   I had been thinking today about emailing them about when I could expect it's return.  eeeoooooeeee.  Spooky.  Must have been a premonition.  Now I'm off to get it out of the box and try it out.

Gifts

I made a quick card today in order to make it into the Freshly Made and Fantabulous Cricut challenges on time.   The Freshly Made sketch is below.

The Fantabulous Cricut challenge was a holiday card.  That left me wide open.  The minute I saw this tree pattern from an old Christmas stack I knew I could make a rather vintage looking card.  And what better to go with trees than gifts.

The packages are cut from the CM 'Tis the Season cartridge, using a couple of papers from MME's Lost and Found, and popped up with foam.  The stripe is from the same stack as the trees.  I inked it all with Antique Linen Distress Ink to keep with the paper color.

Now I have to get back to the craft room to make more cards for several other challenges.  Someday I'll decide which of these cards will be the ones I want to make in multiples for sending to friends and familly.

Dear Santa

I had several ideas for the card challenge at Mojo Monday.

I was definitely going to do the square card and decided to do it this way.

I thought the dark strips looked like a belt so I made one.  The buckle is cut from 'Tis the Season cartridge.  I used a black patent paper from a texture and finishes stack by DCWV for the belt and silver for the buckle.  I tore a strip of white and cuttlebugged it to look like Santa's fur.  The scroll is also cut from 'Tis the Season.  It actually looks better than I imagined.  I'm also entering this in Fantabulous Cricut - holiday card.
