Mother's Day

There have been a number of Mother's Day challenges lately and I've been racking my brain trying to decide what I want to do.  Do I start with a sketch?  Or a special paper?  How much sentiment do I want on the front? 

Along came the sketch from Mojo Monday.  I wanted something that would include flowers for the My Sheri Crafts challenge.

Then I went to a DSP from Papertrey Ink, called HodgePodge.  I had some Core-dinations that went with it and a card was born.  The Fantabulous Cricut challenge said to use your mother's favorite color and this is close.  She wears a lot of pink and coral.

The card is 5 1/8 by 7.  I laid out the entire card on Design Studio to get the right sizes.  The large circle and heart are cut from George and the flowers from Sophisticated in 2 sizes, 3 layers.  I printed the sentiment on the computer and cut the banner by hand.  Everything was inked with Tattered Rose Distress Ink.  I used a metallic paper for the "ribbon" but added some sparkle embossing to the heart to give it even more shine.  Pearls were added for flower centers.   I think my mother will love it.
