Emboss It!

I'm sure all of your have had a song in your head that you just can't get rid of.  All weekend, the song "Bound for Glory" has been rolling around in my head.  It's one of the ones that the handbell choir, of which I'm one, played this morning during worship.  I'm hoping that now we've played, the song will disappear.  But maybe not.  We're playing again at a neighboring church next Sunday, same songs.  One of the other songs is "He is Exalted".  Why isn't it that one that haunts me?

I have a fair number of embossing folders so was excited when the challenge at two blogs called for embossing.  One of the two, Creative Cutter Room, even had a sketch to go by.  How easy is that?
The other challlenge is for My Craft Spot.

(I just saw that 4 Crafty Chicks has an embossing challenge, too, so I'm entering this there as well.)

Here's the sketch.
And  my take on it.

The card is embossed with the Geo Square folder from The Paper Studio that I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby.  The striped paper is from Little Sport by Fancy Pants.  I wanted to use the Happy Birthday stamp and it didn't look right in a big square so I made it a rectangle.
Both challenges said "wet or dry embossing" so I decided to include both.  I inked my stamp with VersaMark embossing ink, then with Weathered Wood Distress Ink.  I used clear embossing powder and it gives the words a great shine.  You can't see it in the picture but it adds a little extra something.  Speaking of extra, I didn't want to put pearls or rhinestones on this obviously masculine card so to be true to the sketch I used black liquid pearls for the dots.   I think I'm going to use this sketch often, using different embossing folders.

Perfect embossing, Bobby! It mimics the sketch ... almost to a T. Love the clean lines...its something I struggle with. Thanks for dropping in on me!
