Wild One

Today really has been quite a wild one, and it's only a little after noon.  The handbell choir played at a neighboring church this morning and we had to be there by 9:00.  It's only fair we play there since three of their members are in our group.  We left there in a hurry to bring back all our equipment, get it stored and attend the coffee hour so our director, who is also the Finance Chair, could make an announcement about our stewardship campaign.  It was a good fellowship time but I wanted to hurry home and post my card that is due today.  I panicked when I first saw it was due at noon, but fortunately it's noon Central Time, so I have 40 minutes to get this blog written and the challenge entered.

I could forget it but I worked hard and long on this card and it's going to make it into the CASology challenge come he** or high water..
.

When I first saw the cue word, I wanted to do something with wild hair but didn't have a stamp (I'm not a stamper) or a Cricut image that would work.  Then I hit upon this.

The slippers are cut from Kate's ABC cartridge.  I put Glossy Accents on the heels of the slippers so they look like patent leather.  I couldn't find a background paper that I liked so I decided to combine this challenge with the one at CAS-ual Fridays - use kraft paper.  CAS is not easy for me.  I kept wanting to add more, knowing that's not CAS.  The plain kraft background just didn't do it for me.  Ok, I'll add some embossing.  I didn't want it to show on the inside of the card, so I cut a piece of craft 4" by 5 1/4" and embossed it with a Croc folder.  To make it stand out from the card base, I inked it with Tea Dye and Black Soot Distress Inks.  I also used them to outline the leopard part of the slipper.  Would this say wild to the Design Team?  Maybe, but I decided to add a "sentiment" in the form of a word bubble.  Now there's no doubt.  lol

Thanks for making it home in time - this is adorable! Thanks so much for getting wild with us at CASology this week!

PS My mom is the handbell choir director at her church and is hosting some kind of handbell symposium in London, Ontario next year - are you coming to that?
