Homework Day 1

I'm finally back in my craft room after two months in the south.  It feels so good to be back with all my supplies but it's taking me a while to get in the groove.

Just before I came home, I signed up for the online classes "Pattern Play" with Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire.  I've never taken classes like this before and thought it would be fun and informative.  Plus I love their work.  Since I'm a quilter and amateur decorator, I knew some of the information but there were a lot of tips and ideas that will be useful.  I am not a stamper (I only have sentiments and not a lot of those).  I only have a couple of thin dies and a handful of punches so I may be at a disadvantage.  I mainly use my Cricut Expression to do all my card making but I know there is a way to use it and make similar cards.

This is my first card.

The base is cream cardstock and the patterned papers are from Lost and Found by My Mind's Eye.  The border is an EK Success punch.  All the edges are inked with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.  The banner was cut from the Cricut, the sentiment stamp curved to fit, and popped up on foam.  I think I used a lot of the tips and techniques on this one card.  I can't wait to see what they have in store for tomorrow.

Welcome back, Bobby! I can't imagine being gone so long, but then I imagine it's pretty cool in lots of ways, too!

I signed up for this class, too, but have yet to sit down and watch any of the videos. Great card! I've enjoyed scrolling through each of your posts to get here!!
