ATCAS #11

There's good news and there's bad news.  Which one do you want first?  Okay, I'll give you the bad news first.  I missed the deadline for the Muse challenge.  I knew it was due on Saturday but forgot the noon hour.  Now for the good news.  The Addicted to CAS has as their word clue this week . . .   ta dah

This means that the flower I made for Muse will qualify for this challenge, and I definitely won't miss the challenge deadline. ;)

Ever since the Pattern Play class I've been wanting to fussy cut and layer an image.   I have a 12 x 12 stack of paper from Recollections with numerous pages of these lotus blossoms.   It's cut in three layers with each popped up on foam tape.

In order to accommodate the size of the flower, the card base is cut 9 1/2 by 7, then folded in half. I planned it this size because I happened to have a purple envelope that would fit.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts and embossed with white.

Thank you for stopping by.  Did you leave a comment?  If not, please do.  I love hearing from you.

Hi Bobby. Gorgeous flower. Love all the layering (I call the technique paper tole ... but that's probably an old term). Amazing dimension ... and of course, you can't go wrong with a beautiful lotus blossom! Thanks for joining us at Addicted to CAS! Loll :)

Oh I hate it when you miss the challenge because you thought it was later in the day! Nothing worse than seeing the dreaded "challenge closed" text, and then looking at your lonely little card. So happy another challenge worked out. The layers you created from the pattern on your paper are wonderful!!

I remember calling it paper tole back when we used to do Holly Hobby in little frames. Now I AM dating myself.

So glad we could accomodate you Bobby! lol Isn't it annoying when you just miss a deadline - still it worked in our favour as we get to see your gorgeous lotus blossom card. Thanks so much for joining the fun at A2CAS.
