Fusion #12

Okay people.  Guess what caught my attention on the Fusion challenge this week?  I know.  You don't know me that well, so here's a hint.

Here's the Fusion challenge.  Look closely at the photo portion.

That pink owl just jumped off the page at me.  In fact, I have one that looks just like it - but not in pink

This one is made from coal from the coal mines in Kentucky.  I have a smaller version of it, too.  The picture at the top is only a portion of my owl collection.  Those are sitting on top of a cabinet that has the entire first shelf filled with owls of all shapes, sizes and material.  I have pictures on my wall and stuffed ones on a shelf. I wouldn't say I am obsessed but I sure have a love of owls.

Of course that meant I had to make an owl for my card.

Isn't she just the cutest thing?  She's cut from Create a Critter using scraps of varying colors of pink, including a tone on tone for the top layer making it look like feathers - sort of.  The branch is from the same cartridge.  I also embossed the background with Forest Branches and although they don't show up much, they give some texture to the card.  I tried the technique where you cut cardboard the size of the card and then cut an opening where you want the sentiment so that part doesn't get embossed.  It worked great for my computer generated "Hoo-ray!" but may be why the branches are not heavily embossed. Call me crazy but  I can't stop looking at the card and smiling.  It may not be a work of art but it sure makes me happy.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you leave here with a smile.

This is so very cute. I noticed that owl as well. How fun that you have an owl collection. My daughter is obsessed with owls, and we must have hundreds in our house. Seriously. You should have seen her Bat Mitzvah--the theme was owls!

Bobby, I love your pink owl. In fact I love all the owls I can see.
Thanks for the heads up. I did not know I won that cart.
Are you enjoying the Portrait?

I still haven't found the time to really get into the Portrait. I need to watch some of the videos available and push forward.

A girl after my own heart. I must have hundreds, too. I even drink my morning tea in an owl mug.

Your pink owl looks beautiful! I noticed the embossing right away, perhaps because I'm addicted to embossing! Those branches are perfect behind your owl! Great card Bobby!
