MM #86 and MIM #148

Today I am going to see my granddaughter dance in The Nutcracker as part of the Ballet Arts Ensemble in Kalamazoo.  She was at a different studio before, so I've seen her dance, even the part of Clara one year, but that was more of a "teaching performance" and not a "professional" one.  This one is going to be big.  I'm posting the last two cards I have made so tomorrow I may have to post some dance pictures.  (*_*)

I have never entered the Merry Monday challenge before but I wanted to do the chalkboard technique.  I did it once before for another challenge here and thought it was worth trying again.

This one is rather simple but you can't call the chalkboard technique "clean" can you?  I used the Tipped Toppers from PTI to cut the background papers.  The wreath and sentiment are from PTI's Wreath for All Seasons.

This next one is for PTI's Make it Monday - modern whimsy style. If you don't know what that is, Danielle Flanders has a great video showing you all about it.  I hadn't heard of it but I LOVE it.  I will definitely be trying it again.

The star border at the bottom is from SSS Holiday borders and stamped in Faded Jeans Distress Ink.  The star garland is from PTI's garland die out of some silver paper I had.  I think it was some kind of packing paper.  The Joy is from their Joy stamp and die set.  I cut two layers of cardboard and a layer of blue paper to thicken the word, and then stamped and embossed in silver the rest of the sentiment from the set.  A little silver ribbon and my whimsical card is done.  Here is a close up so you can see more detail.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Please leave a comment to let me know you were here.  I love reading them.

Bobbie, both of your cards are fantastic. You rocked the chalkboard technique. I think I love this card because of the tipped top dies you used. LOVE them. Looking forward to seeing the pictures of the Nutcracker too. Thank you for joining us at Merry Monday!!!

Great angles, Bobby! The chalkboard isn't clean, but it still has the overall feel of a CAS card to me (I tend to be more liberal in interpretation). AND, your modern whimsy card is really wonderful! You should definitely try some more in that style. The layout is similar to the current Fusion challenge ... you should link it up!
