I was inspired by the yummy gingerbread and I just happened to have a dsp with the directions for making them printed on it.
The little man was cut from Tis the Season out of kraft cardstock and inked around the edges. They do get darker there when baked, you know. I used white Enamel Accents for the frosting and Stickles for his buttons. A tag from MCS, stamped with a PTI sentiment, is tied on with twine. So simple.
Now for the bad news. I had a card made for Merry Monday but didn't look closely enough at my challenge list (AGAIN) and missed the deadline. I think I need to start posting all my cards on one day and then I won't have to worry about it. I'm going to show it to you anyway because I rather like it.
Every year I make Christmas ornaments for my grandchildren. Three years ago I made ones like these, that I kept for myself, and used them as my inspiration.
I didn't need a sentiment because it was printed all over the paper. I roughed up the edges of the star and stamped stitches with Antique Linen Distress Ink. The button is from Button Boutique sewn with gold thread. Add some greens from a MS punch and a gold bow and it is done. Too bad it didn't make the challenge.
I'm so glad you stopped by. I hope your week gets off to a great start.

OK, I'm dying to know - is he missing his arm or is it just hidden behind the tag? I love the thought that someone could not resist taking a bite! Great use of DP in both these cards - I love that the words are small, so that they don't take anything away from your focal points, but the message is there. Too bad you missed the deadline for MM - I love that fresh green with the pop of red! But thanks for joining us at Festive Friday!
I LOVE THIS STAR! I'll tell you it's a winner even if you didn't get it in to the MM challenge! Those little ornaments are so adorable! I love the gingerbread man too and it looks like it's perfectly done. Sometimes mine get a little darker around the edges. Those are the ones we give to Pop!
Your Gingerbread Man card is terrific, Bobby! It totally looks like a REAL cookie!! And, darn, I'm so sorry you missed the challenge at MM, coz that is one awesome country Christmas card. You might say it's a star even!! Hugs, Darnell
Two sweet Christmas cards, Bobby! Love the gingerbread man (or as my granddaughter Lily spells it: gimerbred man). They do brown around the edges, don't they?! And your star card...stunning. Absolutely love it! You'll have your cards done in no time at all at this rate! Bev
Oh goodness Bobby you are on an absolute roll. These two cards are absolutely awesome. Love how fun and whimsical the FF card is and the MM card is gorgeous!
Two perfect Christmas cards Bobby! (love the ornaments too). It is frustrating to miss the challenge deadline, especially when your card fits so beautifully :(
These are both beautiful cards, Bobby! So sad you missed the Merry Monday deadline, your card is CAS perfection. Love the papers you used on both!
great cards Bobby!! but I really adore the star card, its truly a star :)
I love how you used the papers on these cards - I never know what to do with text papers! Thanks for always commenting on my blog - I have subscribed to your blog through email!
Awww man, I hate when that happens! It happened to me yesterday with the Colour Me challenge. :( I'm glad you shared the card anyway though because it's gorgeous as are your ornaments! And what a great gift for your grandkids every year. By the time they have their own families and Christmas trees they'll have a perfect ornament collection to start them off!
As for the first card? Super cute and that paper is perfect!
And I know what you mean about forcing cards - that's what the last couple of weeks have been like. I'm hoping my day of lightbulb moments from yesterday will continue today! :D
Fabulous cards. I just love when the paper has the text--frees up all kinds of space for images and other fun. Sorry you missed the posting deadline...happens to me, too. I think it's too many challenges, and each one has different everything.
Such fabulous cards!! I love the way both have writing all over the paper. Your gingerbread is so sweet and your ornament-inspired card looks amazing!!
Sorry you missed the deadline - but at least you're still incredibly early for Christmas!!
I didn't realize his arm didn't show in the photo but it's there. That would be fun, though, to make one with a bite missing.
Both cards are sweet, and have a warm and cozy feel! Thanks so much for playing with us at Festive Friday!
