MM #99 and OCC

I missed the deadline for the Merry Monday challenge last week and I'm not going to let it happen again.

I used WPlus9's Woodland Wreath but didn't have the die so cut it out by hand.  One of the reasons I'm not too fond of stamps and dies is the white edge around whatever you stamp.  I thought maybe stamping on green would take care of that but I don't really like the green edge either.  I was going to ink it up but forgot until after I had it stuck on.  I made a faux wood grain by rubbing Walnut and Black Soot Distress Ink pads along some brown paper.  My banner was something I learned in the Online Card Class - faux metal.  I embossed my banner with gold powder three times and then imprinted the word Christmas into it with a stamp.

--------------------------------------

One of today's lessons was about graffiti cards and I thought it looked like a fun card.  I want to try it again with birthday sentiments.

The "you" is an inset die and the sentiments are from a variety of stamp sets.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Good job! I really like this, and for some reason, I just keep thinking how this would make a really cool fancy, printed napkin set that would be perfect for like an open house or something where you send people out the door with a treat like a cookie or something. Oh, now I'm rambling! But anyway, great job!

That's a pretty wreath and I love the banner technique! It does look like metal! Looks like there's a lot to learn in that online card class! Love what you're doing with it!

Both cards are great, but I am particularly smitten with your second. I've been pondering all afternoon how to pull off that grafitti look, and haven't come up with anything yet. Yours is fabulous.

Too funny - one of the things I really like about stamp/die combinations is the white edge!! I really like the look with green too! I think we both agree on the faux metal banner. It's fabulous!!

I love the angled sentiments on your second card! LOVE the look of the inset die!
