TCC #6, MUSE # 60, and FM #129

Blessed Sunday everyone!

My first card is for The Card Concept.  I love the (ahem) concept of this challenge.  My problem is deciphering what concept I'm doing. ;)  This week you have to make a birthday card.

Because there aren't any sparkling embellishments except for my Wink of Stella on the cut out, and it's not particularly dramatic but has plenty of white space, I'm going to call this Clean and Layered.

The next card is for two challenges.  I saw MUSE first and knew I wanted to try a new technique.  I was inspired by the color gradation and the white trees.

Then I saw the sketch from Freshly Made and decided I could combine the two, mainly because I had a scrap of watercolor paper that wasn't 4.25 inches wide.

I inked up the watercolor paper with three shades of Distress Ink and then -  ta dah - the new technique.  I sprayed the back of my NBUS burlap stencil, laid it on the paper and it removed some of the paint.  It's faint on the other colors but you can see it at the top of the card.  I love this effect and will be doing more of it.  I finished it off with a "tree" from CASual Fridays and a strip of vellum embossed in gold.

That's all for me today.  I'm off to visit my parents and enjoy this sunny day.  Hopefully there will be time later for a little more crafting.  Thanks for stopping by.

Gorgeous - the white on white gives it an embossed look - it's so pretty. And please don't worry - we all have trouble defining the style of our cards - this challenge has certainly made me much more conscious of my choice of elements on a card and what exact style it constitutes. You've also made a lovely Muse card for this week - love the additional texture the stencil has given it! Thanks for joining us at The Card Concept and Muse this week!

I love all that white texture with the pop on the edges! And the watercolor background with the white branch is stunning! Love the vellum sentiment! Why can't I ever remember to use that?
