Sometimes the easier the sketch, the harder it is for me to think of things to do. I look at the DT cards, and some of those in the gallery and still have a difficult time not doing the obvious literal translation. Sometimes literal is okay but I do it far too often and tried this time to do something different for CASE This Sketch.
I need more sympathy cards, so I used my NBUS stamp from PTI with verdigris embossing powder. The gold shimmer in it doesn't show up in the photo but it's glorious. You also can't see the variegated color in the paper that I cut with a Hero Arts die. I cut a second branch and cut it down to make the image cover the side of the card. I'm not crazy about this so maybe in this case literal would have been better. ;)
Thanks for stopping by. May your cards always turn out the way you imagine them.

Lovely sympathy card Bobby - it is funny how some sketches seem easier to work with than others.
I am like you, Bobby--I always do the obvious, most literal translation of a sketch. Your card is just lovely. I bought some of that Verdegris embossing powder, and forgot all about it. Thanks for the inspiration to pull it out and use it.
Beautiful sympathy card!
Oh, this is beautiful! Wonderful take on the sketch!
I know what you mean about taking it literally.... and then sometimes, when I don't, I look at the cards that did take the sketch literally & wonder if that's what I should have done.... LOL!
Beautiful card and so well done!! Thanks for sharing!!
I am hosting a giveaway at my blog - I would love for you to come by!! Taunya Butler at daisiesgirl.com
Me too, Bobby, I usually stick with a straight lift from a sketch ... your non literal one is just lovely ... all the shimmer and shine is gorgeous! Anita :)
