LIM #214

Yellow and green, Yellow and green.  What can I make in yellow and green?  That went through my mind for a couple of days until I ran across my NBUS stamp set from Penny Black that had this great little bunch of tulips.  Perfect for the Less is More challenge, I thought.

After clear embossing, I watercolored the flowers using Distress Ink.  Before that, I stamped the background with HA Canvas stamp in Antique Linen.  The top panel is cut with SSS stitched rectangle and circle and stamped with MFT burlap. The whole thing is popped up on foam on Lemon Chiffon cardstock.  I was tempted to leave off a sentiment but thought this little "Thanks!" from My Craft Spot (now defunct) would fit in there nicely.

My Mom is going for radiation treatment for skin cancer on her leg - 5 days a week for 6 weeks.  The nursing home says someone has to go with her and that someone is me.  I have no siblings that live in the area to help out.  Today a good friend of both mine and Mom's told me she'd like to take one of my days so she will accompany Mom every Friday.  This card is going to her to tell her how much I appreciate her love and compassion.

Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful card Bobby. Love the visual texture with your stamped backgrounds ... and those tulips are so pretty. What a lovely way to thank your generous friend for their offering to help. My mom is going in for surgery for skin cancer on Mar. 30. It's an awful thing. Good luck to your mom with her treatments ... that's a long haul for her and you. Sending you both big hugs. Loll xx
