TIME OUT # 33

The theme at TIME OUT is Happy the bride the sun shines on and you can use any of those words to make your card. The words are from my parent's theme song.  Mom was living in Boston when Dad went to Purdue on a fellowship and he asked her to wait for him.  He'd sing this to her. "I'll be with you in apple blossom time, I'll be with you to change your name to mine. One day in May, I'll come and say, happy the bride the sun shines on today."  He did come and they got married on May 15, 1942.  I decided to make an anniversary card for them for this challenge.

I used what looks like apple blossoms to me from Penny Black, watercoloring them with Spun Sugar DI.

Thanks for stopping by.

What a lovely story, Bobby!! And you've made the perfect card to help them celebrate this very special anniversary. Did I add right? 73 years?! Wow! What a wonderful blessing. Love your sweet apple blossom card! Bev

Hi Bobby, this story made me smile and I am sure they loved this card. I like the layering of the pink and Kraft and the soft blossom. Thanks for joining us at TO

I love your darling story, and love the song, too. It is a favorite of my in-laws, as well. You've beautifully captured it on paper, Bobby... good for you.

What a wonderful, romantic story, Bobby! Isn't it fun to learn about our parents' courtships? My dad proposed to my mom on the pontoons of a water-plane, just moments before he flew off to work in the bush for a couple weeks. I think she stood on the dock for a couple hours, trying to digest what had just happened. Fifty-six years they shared together...I adore your card; I adore YOU for sharing this heart-touching story!
