Melissa has something a little different at Make It Monday this week. If you go watch the video, you'll see her make a fabric strip Christmas tree. Normally I wouldn't make something quite so bulky as a card but since I have a ton of fabric scraps I just had to use them to join in.
All of the scraps are from a quilt I made my middle son and the base is a straw from my grandson's wedding. I used PTI's star and joy dies cut from gold glitter paper for my decorations. Want to see something fascinating? It just shows that trends (?) come back again.
This is a pin I made probably 15 years ago using the same method. These strips are all the same fabric and tied around a cinnamon stick with a rusty star on top. I could have glued it on a card and added a PTI sentiment and be done. *wink*.
Now that I think of it, one of my sets of PTI Christmas sentiments has disappeared. I've gone through all my Christmas stamps several times, and then through the others and still can't find it. I'm thinking it must have walked away on it's own.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Love your fabric tree, Bobby! Gorgeous colors and now I want to see the quilt :)
I hope you find the missing stamp set.
Cute card, awesome use of some sentimental fabric! That is too funny that you did this same (similar) thing years ago.!
Really darling, Bobby! I think I love the original even more! I once lost a sentiment - those little clear stamps have a way of sticking quite easily to anything, don't they? I did find it, stuck to the outside of the storage case! [St. Anthony always seem to help out, when asked =]

Very cute, Bobby!!!
Your trees - both the younger and older version - are both fabulous! I couldn't make this if I wanted to, as I'm in a no-material zone (living in a postage-stamp sized townhouse makes for no extra space). Super sweet...

Wow....this is wonderful. Love your fabulous tree.
Love your trees! I was surprised how many variations I saw for these trees on Pinterest! I love that you made one as a pin too. Lots of great ideas for these trees all week! Such a fun M.I.M. to play along with!
Everything old is new again...isn't that what they say. Your tree is fantastic, and I was so happy to see that you made one, as I am sure you have the best fabric stash around.
Fabulous, Bobby ... love all the gorgeous texture and patterns ... positively touchable! Do hope that stamp set comes back! Hugs, Anita :)
