Just Us Girls #347

It's technique week at Just Us Girls and Nancy has picked spotlighting.
This is a technique where you highlight one part of your image with color while leaving the other outlined.   You'll see plenty of inspiration over on the JUGS blog but first here's mine.

Have you ever felt like a card is cursed?  I think this one was because things just kept going wrong.  It's a wonder I got it done at all.
This is actually the third rendering and it had a boo boo on it as you can probably tell.  The image is from Altenew's daisy that I painted like a Gaillardia using Distress Inks.  Layered inks as the first colors weren't exactly what I was going for.  See those buds?  The first card I stamped them upside down.  And under that sentiment die from SSS is a little smudge.

If you make a card using the spotlight technique and enter it in the Linky you will be eligible to be Chic of the Week and possibly a guest designer spot in August.  So what are you waiting for?

So pretty - and such a fabulous technique! Yay for dies and embellishments to hide our mistakes. Sure beats starting over again (which is what I had to do with a card the other day)!

Oh geez, when you have boo boos that don't show, keep it to yourself and no one will ever know....lol. I don't see it. LOVE the stamp you used for this technique, and I also love that you did the greeting in the same color as the spotlight. Very effective.

Ah yes...the card that does everything possible to defeat its creation! I have a whole LOT of those in my recycle bin (grrrr...). So glad you persevered with this image: your spotlight colouring is gorgeous! Boo-boo? Nope, not from where I'm looking!
