Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge - April

A new month and a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers for their Christmas Challenge.
If you know me at all, you know I have to go for the twist and I must admit it was not that easy this time.  I had the song "Deck the Halls" in my head and it wouldn't go away until I made a holly card.
I'm not real happy with this and I think it's the largeness of the plaid background.  I had another plaid panel that I tried but it was the wrong color and not my stamp so I couldn't recreate it.  I love this Concord and 9th plaid on other cards and since it was all I had to work with I went with it.  The holly is from CPD, stamped on a die from AliExpress and colored with Inktense pencils.  The sentiment - the driving force behind the card - is from MFT.

Now you must remember that you do NOT have to use the twist on your anything goes Christmas card.  Get a head start on your stash and make a card for this month's challenge.  The winner will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the HLS shop. If you are the random draw and you used a HLS stamp, the prize will be doubled.

We'd love to see yours in the gallery.

  4. I quite like this, Bobby. The large plaid gives your card a 'country-ish' vibe. And I know a ton of folks who would love getting this jolly card at Christmas time. The holly leaves and berries are delicate and frame your sentiment perfectly. Sweet card! Bev

  5. I'm with the rest of your fan club friend!! there is NOTHING like a perfect red plaid that says Merry Christmas better!! It is the perfect backdrop for your delicate holly. A+++

  6. I'm in the plaid lovers club too, Bobby. I love the torn look of that die cut panel anf the holly edges. Wonderful, warm, simple, and very Christmas-y card.

  7. That delicate holly frame is such a great contrast to the bold red plaid, Bobby ... I'm feeling jolly already! Hugs, Anita :)

  8. A beautiful card with the use of christmas colors. The very beautiful holly frame looks great on the red plaid panel.

  9. Beautiful card, the holly panel goes really well on top of the plaid.
