One would think I'd be using flowers for the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches but not this time.
I dug out an old set from Penny Black called April Showers. This card took a couple of turns before I ended up with this. It started as a one layer card until I didn't like the way I colored the umbrella with my Altenew artist markers. So I stamped and colored another one planning to place it over the first when I realized there were borders on the sketch. I cut a panel down, cut some masking paper with Honey Bee's Deckle Edge rectangle, placing the negative on before inking with Stormy Sky DI. That meant I also had to fussy cut the boots because PB didn't make dies back in the day. The umbrella was stamped to get the handle, then placed over a PTI cloud. The sentiment is from Stampendous.
Thanks for dropping by. I hope you have a fancy umbrella for rainy days.

Ooh, I would love some boots like this, Bobby! A great match with the umbrella!
Bobby, your extra efforts paid off as this turned out just adorable. I don't know what your first umbrella looked like but, this is a perfect match - except to say: with cute boots like these one would be splashing [umbrella-less] in all the puddles available!

I'd say everything came together perfectly! Sweet elements and your design worked, including the extras that you worked in.
All of those twists and turns lead to a fun take on the sketch, Bobby! I mean what's not to love about those cutie patootie floral boots!
Your card turned out great. Love those cute rain boots, perfect with the umbrella.
This is so sweet! I love the cheerful umbrella and especially the boots! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
