Just Us Girls #783 - Word Week

Vicki is the host for Word Week at Just Us Girls and her word is "Water".

I had fun with this one and I'm thrilled with the results.

I got this shaker bottle die and 'bottles' from MFT a long time ago and may have used it once.  The background was masked and colored with Distress Inks with the water spritzed and blotted.  A small piece of paper was distressed on the edge and rolled up to place inside with some cork for the stopper. The Betterpress sentiment couldn't have been more perfect.

How do you see water playing a role on your card?  For inspiration, our guest Donna Mikasa and the rest of the Design Team have some fabulous cards for you to see.

A You See It #350 - Triptych

I put together a card for the sketch challenge at As You See It - Triptych.

For the three images I used one of TH Wildflower dies in Kraft, which went well with the striped paper from Honey Bee.  I trimmed the panel to let the navy cardstock show and added the Betterpress sentiment also in navy.  This will work well for a masculine card.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great week!

Double D - Frames

I love all the wonderful frames that are the inspiration at Double D.  What I wouldn't give to have some of them just to hang, no pictures needed.  But my card does include a frame and picture.

Stamped on Bristol, the PB Garden Trio image was colored with Zigs.  The PB Double Frame was cut from a TH pack that I thought gave a patina look,  layered and then foam popped.  The sentiment is a SB BetterPress.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a crafty day.

AAA Colourful #16

I played around with the colors at AAA Colourful and while I'm not really happy with my card I'm going to post it anyway.

The board shows purple, yellow, white and black.   I took a chance that yellow leaves would work with my Altenew Delicate Garden stamp and stencil.   I chose Maple Yellow hoping it wouldn't look like dying leaves.  😬  The black is Classy Frames from Penny Black, layered three high, the background insert is embossed with the Tasteful Textile folder from SU! and the sentiment is a BetterPress from Spellbinders.

That's it from me.  I'm off to make a few other cards since the weather is overcast and a little cool.

Thanks for dropping by.

Cardz 4 Guyz #373

As I'm always in need of masculine cards, I like to enter challenges that focus on the men in my life and Cardz 4 Guyz is one of those.  This challenge is Shade of Blue and I had just the stencil to make that happen.

The stencil is Kaleidoscope from PFS, colored with Weathered Wood, Stormy Sky and Uncharted Mariner Distress Inks.  The panel and sentiment label are bordered with navy and the BetterPress sentiment from SB is also in blue, cut with an MFT oval.

It promises to warm up here today which I'm looking forward to.  Thanks for dropping by to visit.

Seize The Birthday #306

With all the birthday cards I make I don't know why I don't enter Seize the Birthday more often.  I brought with me the right stuff to make a card for challenge #306 - Use a Frame.

Both the frame and flower are from Penny Black.  The flowers are colored with Distress Inks in Tattered Rose, Victorian Velvet, Shabby Shutters and Pealed Paint.  The frame and card base are Ivory from Gina K with the frame layered three times.  The sentiment is from Spellbinders.

Thanks for dropping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #665

Kim's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches inspired me to get out an older set and not a Christmas one either.

I need more masculine cards and this Layering Leaf by Concord & 9th was just the thing.  The bottom layer was cut from watercolor paper with light pressure from my Intri-Cut to keep all the pieces in place.  After watercoloring with Distress Inks in Fossilized Amber, Rusty Hinge and Brushed Corduroy, the top layer cut from PTI's Rustic Cream was added - minus all the pieces.  They are glued to more Rustic Cream that was embossed with the Subtle folder from SU, making sure that each little piece had glue on it.  The sentiment is BetterPress from Spellbinders.

I'm so glad you dropped by for a visit.  I hope you leave a comment.
