Color Throwdown #731

It took a while before I could come up with something for Color Throwdown.  I had an idea but wasn't sure about it until a card popped up on Pinterest that seemed like a sign.

So I went ahead and used The Greetery's toadstools in the challenge colors.  A little inking for dimension, some stenciling to ground them and a Penny Black sentiment was all I needed to pull it together.

Just Us Girls #625 - Photo Week

I'm hosting at Just Us Girls for Photo Week and this is the photo I picked.

I thought this picture evoked the coming of Spring and who doesn't love birds and flowers.  Here's a larger format so you can see the details.

For my card I focused on the birds and birdhouse instead of flowers.  Unsual for me I know.

The stamps set is from HoneyBee and colored with Zigs.  The background was inked with an MFT cloud stencil in Speckled Egg DI.  The sentiment is from Altenew.

This is JoAnn's last week with us as a guest designer.  She and the rest of the team have some wonderful cards to inspire you.  I hope you'll take a look and make a card for the gallery.  You may have a chance to be our guest.

The Flower Challenge #50

Are you ready for another The Flower Challenge?  It's an easy one this time.  You just need to include a sentiment on your card along with the flower focal point.

The flowers and sentiment are NBUS from Altenew called Positive Vibes.  I like the set as much for the sentiments as for the flowers.  The background is a LF die and the sentiment label is from PFS.

I have a new picture of the Design Team since we have changed a couple of our designers.

We all hope you join us and our guest designer Enna for this month's challenge.

CAS(E) This Sketch #368

I've been thinking all week on what I could do for CAS(E) This Sketch when I ran across a stamp set today that I thought would be perfect.
The little cocktails are from Newton's Nook, stamped on Bristol and colored with Zigs.

Thanks for dropping by.  I wish we could meet for a happy hour or two.

CAS(E) This Sketch #362

Another sketch.  Another card for CAS(E) This Sketch
This flower die from SSS was sitting on my desk from another challenge and I knew it would work beautifully for the sketch.  I cut it twice, inking the blooms with Worn Lipstick and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks although they look the same color here.  They also look a lot darker than the original.  I tried several ways to add the MFT sentiment and finally stamped it on the card base and then cut the top panel that is embossed with SU Textured Impressions into pieces to fit around it.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope it's a happy day for you.

Inkspirational #194

I love bright colors with black and white
so the photo at Inkspirational really drew me in.
And I had the perfect stamp already heat embossed and die cut,
ready for me to color.
This image from Altenew Weekend Doodles came from Michele but I loved it so much I bought my own.  I colored it with Zigs, placed the flowers on a Tipped Top from PTI and added splatters.  To finish it off I pulled out some Altenew paper for the background.  This should make someone happy. ;)

Thanks for dropping by.

MIM #221 and PIC #1

I combined two challenges today and I'm not sure I did either one of them justice.  I loved this picture from the brand new Pinterest Inspired Challenge -

and thought I could combine it with the Make it Monday challenge (Masking Sentiments).

Some of you out there in blogland do a fantastic job of making patterned backgrounds.  I've never been happy with mine but I keep trying.  Here I used PTI's Beautiful Blooms, with a little help from Beautiful Brushstrokes, and some HA inks.  I can see a redo coming for this card.  It's funny how the computer screen makes you look at your cards in a whole different way.
