Color Hues #49

Color Hues has another challenge and this time it's Yellow and Brown

I really layered this one up. ;)   I started with the PTI sunflower embossed in gold and colored with Distress Inks.  It's a small panel so once it was layered on white it needed more substance.  I only had a small piece of yellow so added the other white layer and put it all on the dark brown.  The sentiment from SSS was stamped in brown and cut with an MFT circle die.  A quadruple matted work of art.  lol

I'm so glad you dropped by.  I hope you'll leave a comment to let me know you were here.

CAS(E) This Sketch #205 and Darnell's NBUS #9

This card is for CAS(E) This Sketch and Darnell's NBUS #9.
The sketch

was a little daunting until I saw this card by Kathie Durgan.
I took Kathie's idea and moved the layers to one side of my card, using vellum for the dividers.  Because I'm CASEing Kathie's card with my NBUS Altenew Painted Flowers, my card is eligible for Darnell's Option 2 of NBUS Challenge 9.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you leave a comment because I enjoy reading them.

Time Out #52 and Muse: Christmas Visions #37

The sun is shining, oh happy day!  If often sing this song when the weather breaks and it's beautiful out.  So why am I on the computer?  Because I have two cards to show you.
This one is for Time Out using my new SSS Roses for You and inspired by this card by Marjan for the 'CASE with your own twist' challenge.
I used a TH stencil with Peeled Paint DI on Linen cardstock.  I told you I'd use it, Anita ;).  I stamped the flowers and did a loose watercolor with Altenew and Distress inks.  The sentiment is from CF. The wonderful Kim of Cupcakes, Cards and Kim celebrated a 'big' birthday recently and  Kylie has a link up at her blog, Kylie's Addicted to Stamps for us to send our birthday wishes.  This card will be going there.

Here is my card for Muse: Christmas Visions
based on this card by Emily Leiphart.
I used my PTI jar stamps and dies, coloring the snowman's clothing with DI and adding some white enamel accents to cover the stamped snow dots.  I'm not sure that was the best thing to do but it looks good from a certain angle.

Here's hoping you have a happy day.

Inkspirational #99 and JUGS #324

It looks like Thank You cards are the order of the day.  I have one for Inkspirational that will also work for a second entry at Just Us Girls.

Every time I saw someone use PTI's Harvest Berries I wondered why I didn't have that set.  Now I do. I used some old, old paper for the border that sort of matches the Green Hills ink and the W & W sentiment is stamped on vellum and embossed in platinum.  I see more cards with this stamp in my future.

An Announcement and Less Is More #257

Some of you may have already seen it, but I have an announcement to make.  I'm going to be on the Tag You're It! Design Team.  When Tracey emailed me about the opportunity I was both shocked and thrilled.  I'm so excited to be joining such a talented group of ladies.  Check us out on Friday for the first challenge of 2016.

My card today is for the Less Is More challenge - Neutrals.
Three shades of gray and my NBUS Altenew Wild Hibiscus.  You'll never know how long it took me to come up with these papers and this design. ;)

Thanks for dropping by.

Addicted to Stamps and More #171

The challenge this week at Addicted to Stamps and More is "Anything Goes". That can be easy, or it can be difficult.  I usually like some sort of push to get me started and for this challenge the push was that I need more Thanksgiving cards for the homebound people from my church.

I played around with these pieces and a few more before I was satisfied with the final card.  The image is from PTI Fall Jar, colored with Zigs.  Then I layered Rustic White cs with a scrap of orange print and some kraft paper that I ran through my crimper.  The sentiment from Clearly Besotted was stamped in Rich Cocoa and everything was inked with PTI Classic Kraft.  This is taking me back to my roots as a cardmaker.

What will you make for the "Anything Goes" challenge?  Head on over to Addicted to Stamps and More to see what the Design Team has for inspiration. The winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to Deedee's Digis and 5 digis from Rosey Hearts.

CASology #161

I've seen some mighty cute and well done plaids over at CASology this week.  The last time I tried to stamp a plaid it was a disaster so I went another way with the cue word.

Does this look like plaid?  Can you tell what I did?  Let me give you a hint.  Coverplate.  That's right.  I used the Cross Quilt coverplate by PTI and layered and offset it to create what I think looks like a unique plaid.  I had to do some cutting and finagling to get it to come out right on both sides, which made it a little narrower so I just mounted it on some Soft Stone cardstock that matches the top layer.  Kind of like a plaid quilt with a border.  The sentiment from PTI is embossed in Silver Pearl, an embossing powder I forgot I had.  To make the sentiment stand out a little more, I embossed the edges of the Aqua Mist square.  I'm going to add this to my small stash of masculine cards.

Floral Fusion

I'm going back to my roots with this week's card for Fusion.  When I started out as a card maker, or at least when I started blogging about it, I did a lot of Cricut cuts and layered patterned papers.  I think my quilting background has something to do with it because I love mixing printed fabrics and paper is similar, but not quite as expensive.  (enter a wink and a smile here).

You can see I fused, using paper from My Mind's Eye and a stamp and tag die from My Craft Spot.  I bought some of my first stamps and dies from Kimberley, so that's another trip back in time.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.  I enjoy hearing from you.
