Sunday Night Tradition

I don't know how or when it started but we've almost always had popcorn on Sunday night.  I think it must have started when I was a child as a substitute for an evening meal when we had a big Sunday dinner at 1:30 or later.  I carried on the tradition when my children were young and it continues as part of my life now.  I still make my popcorn the old-fashioned way.  No microwave for me.   The pan I use, well worn and coated with baked-on grease, is 50 years old.  I will NOT give it up.  It's perfect for popcorn - and no bake chocolate cookies.  But that's another story.

This week at Celebrate the Occasion, the challenge is "Popping By", use popcorn on a card.

This is the way I made cards BC (Before Cricut).  In fact the paper is some I purchased way back then and thought was perfect for this challenge.  I printed the sentiment with the computer on buttery gold paper and layered it on a kernel colored rust that was punched on one side with an EK Success punch.  It needed a little something else so I handcut a piece of corn from the paper, added some Glossy Accents to it and popped it up (no pun intended  lol ) on foam tape.

This is making me hungry for guess what?  I'm off to pop some soon.

Mmmm, you make me hungry for popcorn, too; sadly, I can't eat it, but I love that you have such a fun tradition on Sunday night! Very clever card, Bobby!

(Thanks for the good wishes!!)
