Muse #14

I tried to think of some commentary to start my blog post today and. . .  zilch.  I looked up muse in the Google dictionary. To think and/or meditate on a subject.  Huh?  A related link said "to be inspired by" and I know that's what this challenge was set up to do. Inspiration is different for everyone.  Sometimes I look at  a thumbnail on the site and wonder "Where did that come from?" After an explanation I can understand it and envy those who can see something totally different than the original card.  Me, not so much.  I'm trying to stretch myself but not today.  Here's the inspiration photo from MUSE:

I saw brightly colored flowers, a triple border and a circular sentiment as a focal point.  So here it is.

The paper is from a 6 x 6 stack by American Crafts called Soho Garden.  The sentiment was computer generated and punched with an EK Success punch.  I accidentally forgot to remove the black circle when I printed it but decided I rather liked it that way.  To give a little sparkle, I added some Sticko dimensional stickers from EK Success.

When I was taking pictures of my cards the other day, my husband said "What are you doing with all these cards?"  I try to make only ones I can/will actually use although I have enough already to last me a year or more. My daughter said a set of cards would make a good gift to her.  I did that last Christmas and then she hated to give them away.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day!

Love this! Bright and happy, and so much fun. Great dp, too! I think you were right to leave the black circle-it's just the right touch. Bev

This is a super card. Brilliant idea to use beautiful patterned paper.

Totally agree, that black circle line really helps give the sentiment focus. I have some papers from that Soho line ... love 'em! I try to make only cards I'll use too, but I have to admit any cards that say "I love you" end up staying in my box. For whatever reason I never use those.

I love this bright DP - such a pretty take on this week's Muse. I hear you about all these cards we have! I also try to make only ones I'll use (that's why you see a lot of Birthday, Thank You and Christmas, all others (baby, sympathy, get well) are more 'to order'! Thanks for playing along Bobby. As for my jury duty, I don't know why they didn't choose me and I don't really care! lol! Actually, if the trial had been shorter, I might have been more interested, but 6-8 weeks is too long to be sitting in a court room as a (as I see it, anyway) secondary 'victim' to whatever the crimes were!

Love the bold, bright paper - the black line on the sentiment circle totally belongs there - helps bring the eye in to the sentiment!

GREAT use of the pattern paper and diecut circle! I also love the black outlines for the circle! So glad that you join the fun over MUSE challenge this week! PS: I donate my cards to my local church because I make so many :)

What does your church do with them, Virginia? I do send cards to my church's homebound people for their birthday and holidays.

Great interpretation of Virginia's card - the black circle needs to be there, really eye-catching!
