JUGS #255

I have to tell you this photo image from JUGS spoke to me in a number of different ways.  I love all things old and worn, farm and tool related, and barn wood  of any size, shape and color.  I couldn't put all that on one card but I did manage to give it a little age and rusticness.

I wanted to give the impression of the rusted fender so I used a stencil and embossing paste colored with Mustard Seed Distress Ink on the bottom of the Pure Poppy cardstock.  While the paste dried, I took a scrap of watercolor paper, stamped my NBUS daisy from Sheena Douglas and painted it with Distress Ink. After the flowers were dry, I clear embossed them so I could give the background some age with Scattered Straw.  I roughed up the edges, too.  A little twine, and sentiment embossed in white, and some foam to pop us the panel and I have my rustic beauty.

I can't remember where the sentiment is from and it's driving me crazy.  I'm going to want to use it again but I've been through most of my stamps and I can't find it.  I should have known to write it down because it took me a long time to find just what I wanted to use in the first place.

I'm so glad you stopped by.  I'd love it if you'd leave a comment.

Oh I think that stencil is fabulous. The perfect texture for the inspiration photo. The font on that sentiment looks like Avery Elle or Simon Says Stamps to me. Love it!
