Sue is our host this week at Just Us Girls and she has picked a great challenge for us for Trend Week.
There are so many ways to do galaxy and night skies and I'm sure you'll find one that will work for you.
I used Distress Oxides for mine, starting with Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber. I added a coat of Faded Jeans and topped it all with Black Soot. A toothbrush and watered down acrylic paint made the stars. The sentiment from MFT is heat embossed on vellum.
Last week I neglected to welcome the sweet and lovely Carol Mayne to our team. She makes such fabulous cards and you will be thrilled with her creations as well as the wonderful, supportive comments she leaves.
Cathymac is our guest designer this month and she has a wonderful card for you as do the rest of the Design Team. Check them out for inspiration and then start playing around with your inks to make a galaxy card. We'd love to see what you come up with. If you are a January winner, you are eligible to be our guest designer in March.

Great work creating a galaxy night sky, Bobby! This is AMAZING! Love the colours and how you've blended them with the lightness in the center. Perfect addition with the splattered "stars". The vellum banner is perfect as it doesn't cover up any of that gorgeous background. xx
Your background is beautifully done and the sentiment is perfect! Very pretty card!
I love galaxy backgrounds - yours is wonderful! Perhaps I'll find some time to play along...
Simply magical...love your gorgeous sky!
This is stunning! An absolutely perfect night sky paired with the perfect sentiment!
Lovely galaxy background and the sentiment is perfect with it.
Love your background Bobby especially the glow in the middle. Beautiful cas card with the vellum sentiment.
Your night sky looks amazing Bobby! This is a marvelous card!
Wow, Bobby, what a stunning night sky ... the soft light glowing through it is just brilliant ... amazing sponging! Hugs, Anita :)
Gorgeous night sky, Bobby! One that invites bundling up and stepping outside to gaze in the wonder of all those twinkling stars! I don't have Black Soot ink in my collection (no idea why not *grin*), but changing that soon. Memento and Versafine attempts = epic messes! Stay tuned for more in-depth galaxies from me down the road...
Hugs~c
Well this is just beautiful. I really like how you have done the moon - you must be from Michigan... ha ha! Our skies often look like that where the clouds hide the moon so you just see a little light. I really love this!
love this...gorgeous night sky!!
xx Karen
Perfect sentiment with your beautiful bg!
Your card reminds me of my nephew's artwork. He paints with firecrackers....yes firecrackers. He often makes celestial skies! Your card is awesome! You have a much better job blending your Oxide inks than I. I need more practice!
Fabulous job with your night sky, Bobby! The sentiment on vellum is a great idea and I love the light that seems to shine from the middle of the sky!
