Tomorrow is April 1 and you know what that means. Besides April Fool's Day and Easter I mean. It means April showers bring May flowers and so as your host for this challenge at Addicted to CAS, I chose as our code word:
After I chose it I had trouble deciding what to do. I had a number of ideas that I tried out but they just didn't work right. Persistence paid off and I ended up with a card I'm happy with.
I used my MFT stencil to first put down some Stormy Sky Distress Ink and then went over it with translucent texture paste. If you zoom in you may see the shine. The umbrella is also from MFT cut in two layers of white, one of gray and one of DSP with a little silver added to the handle. Then came the difficult part - sentiment. Most of the ones I could have used were too big to keep the card CAS. I ended up with this one from PB - sort of a double entendre.
The Design Team and I look forward to see what you do with the code word. You could win a $20 voucher from the Happy Little Stamper store if you enter a card in the gallery.

Such a sweet card, and so appropriate for spring. Although today they are calling for 1-3" of the sloppy stuff....grrrrr! I love that you put the texture past on the raindrops, PERFECT. I really like this card, well done!
A darling card, Bobby ... you've done well in your Hostess capacity, giving everyone a great Springtime theme! Happy Easter, my friend!

Sweet card, Bobby! The patterned paper on the umbrella is perfect for the spring flowers from April showers idea...and I love the texture paste on your raindrops.
Thanks for the great code word.
I love this choice of code word, Bobby. Great pick. It's gorgeous here in NJ today, but I think we are reversing back into March weather starting tomorrow! I love this umbrlla and the paper you chose for it. Love the silver handle and the textured raindrops. Happy Easter and Happy Spring to you!
What pretty little umbrella! This is lovely Bobby!
One would almost want it to rain if one had such a pretty brolly as this to put up and shelter under, Bobby ... it's so charming! Hugs, Anita :)
I zoomed in on your photo and I love the effect of the translucent texture paste, Bobby...so clever of you to add shine with your stencil! I also love the DSP you chose for your umbrella and your sweet sentiment...double entendre' and all :)
Love how you paper pieced the umbrella!
I want that umbrella in real life; it's lovely! I would happily exchange some April showers for the snow that's currently falling...
Hugs~c
Your card is so sweet, I really love the sentiment together with the rain :)

Bobby, your persistence certainly did pay off. I love how you angled the umbrella and the paper piecing is gorgeous. I also love how you sponged the raindrops to force the eye to the umbrella. Fabulous card
