If you don't know by now, I'm an owl freak. I have a gigantic collection of owls in all shapes, sizes and materials, although not one made of a pineapple and bananas like this one. In fact I just bought one. I'll share it below for those who'd like to see it but for now here's my card.
A long time ago Joyce Mehrberg sent me a bunch of stamped and die cut owls because she knew how much I love them. I've used some over the years but I went into her envelope and discovered this gorgeous creature from Serendipity and decided to use him on my card. I thought he would make a good masculine card so I found this tweed paper that matched perfectly with PTI Fine Linen. I didn't have room for much of a sentiment so I used this one from a NBUS set from Sunny Studio.
You know I'm exited to see what you do with the photo. There should be a wonderful collection of owls in the gallery, although you don't have to use an owl. The photo is only for inspiration. For more inspiration check out what our talented guest designer Hannelie and the rest of the Design Team have done. If you are chosen Chic of the Week you will have a chance to be our guest designer in August.
Here's the owl I bought made from a glass serving tray and tealight holders.
You can't see them in the photo but there are forks for his talons holding onto the branch. Now to find a place to hang him.

Oh he is indeed handsome, and a little serious, too … which makes the 'woo hoo' fun for a masculine birthday, right? You are right on with that tweed paper being a perfect match, Bobby. and your newest addition is really fun, too!

Oh how awesome another owl freak! I have tons of owl things all over the place including tons of owl stamps! I swear that I have enough stamps all the time then I see a new owl one! Well this card is awesome! Great job with the challenge this week!
What a fabulous owl die! Great inspired card
Those owl eyes just stare right through you. Just love this card and it's brilliant simplicity. Love your new piece too.
What a great post! Love learning more and more about other card makers! The owl you found in your envelope is perfect for this challenge as it mimics the layers of fruit in the photo. The owl made out of glass is super cool also! What a great addition to your collection!
TY
Two fantastic owls, Bobby! Love the simple black, white and tweed card! Your new purchase is very creative and fun!
He looks so serious and stern, but he's mighty dapper!
He is a handsome chap, Bobby ... love the humour of the sentiment with his serious expression ... so fun! What a creative piece you found ... such an appealing little face! Hugs, Anita :)
I love your card! That owl is awesome paired up with that tweed background. Your glass owl is adorable and so funny that I happen to have a set of 12 of those same serving plates that had belonged to my mother!
Oh I love that die! So cute and so intricate! And that owl made from the glass tray is definitely a must have if you love owls! It’s so fun!
