Addicted to Stamps #161

Talk about time getting away from you.  I realized at 3:00 Tuesday afternoon that I hadn't made a card for my Design Team assignment at Addicted to Stamps and More this week and it needed to be posted by 7:00 pm.  I could have sworn I did one but I guess not.  I must be thinking of last time. Sometimes my mind fails me. ;)  Fortunately the theme is Anything Goes and I have been wanting to try this technique that Jennifer McGuire had on her blog a while ago.  Hence my quickly thrown together yet rather attractive card.

I planned on doing a get well card but once I blended Abandoned Coral and Wild Honey Distress Inks onto my paper, it looked like Fall to me.  I changed gears and cut the word die from MFT from Dark Chocolate, which is also my card base.  The secret to the card is the gold Perfect Pearls that has been dusted over the DI before embossing with my newest ef from Sizzix.

It should be easy for you to enter this week since the theme is Anything Goes.  You'll find great inspiration from the Design Team over on the blog. And there are double prizes for the winner.

Retro #111 and Card Concept #8

Happy Friday, everyone.  It is Friday, right?  I've been busy.  I don't know what all I've been doing but I haven't been spending much time in the craft room.  That combined with the fact that my right brain went on vacation, I just haven't made any cards until today.  I made a list last night of all the challenges I want to enter and there were 7 of them, none of which could really be combined, most of them due on Sunday.  Uh oh. Here are two of them.

First up is Retro Sketches.

My step granddaughter's birthday is May 1 and I made this for her.  I used a couple of NBUS stamps on this - the PTI Library Card (and die) and My Craft Spot's Scrapping Life. The paperclip is cut with my Cricut and embossed with gold three times and imprinted with a heart - the faux metal look..

The next card was a real bugaboo.  It's for The Card Concept.

I don't have an umbrella stamp or die so I cut this girl with my Cricut.  I knew I wanted a spring like umbrella but after that everything was trial and error.  Mostly error.  I ended up by embossing clouds for my background, cutting it to leave space for the sentiment from PTI. (Another NBUS)  It's for the clean and layered category.

Tonight the church group is going to see "Heaven is for Real" and tomorrow is an all day church meeting.  So when will I get those other cards done?  I may have to give a couple of them up. (insert sad face).

I'm so glad you stopped by.  I love reading your comments so I hope you leave one.

CTS #67 and OCC

I made this card some time ago for Jenny.  If you saw my blog a couple of months ago, you may remember her as my "daughter from another mother" who is suffering from Hodgkin's Lymphoma.  I have been sending her cards every couple of weeks.  I never posted this one so I could save for a challenge and it fits the sketch for CASE This Sketch this week.

-----------------------------------

I'm taking the online card class and made a couple of cards from yesterday's lessons on faux effects..

The balloon is an inlaid die cut with ghost stamping.

This card uses faux metal.  Not the best card but I did practice the technique.

Thanks for stopping by.  I'm off to see the videos for the second day of class.
