CS #174 and ABNH

Sometimes I have trouble getting inspiration from a photo.  Or in this case, a photo of someone else's card. This one was by Donna Mikasa and is so bright and "totally cool".  I usually go straight for the "copy" as I did for this week's CASE Study.

I started out by trying to splatter my card.  I don't have any mists so I watered down some old acrylic paint and flicked it off my paint brush.  What do you know?  It worked.  I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder, inked over it with Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress Inks, and splattered on some more green and then navy ink.  It needed something more.  Sequins or enamel dots are another thing I don't have so I cut navy paper with a hole punch, glued them on and covered them with Glossy Accents.  Voila' -homemade enamel dots.

Since I used a new sentiment stamp from Hero Arts "Say It All" set, I'm also entering this into the A Blog Named Hero challenge - New Year, New Stash.

Thanks for stopping by and an extra thank you if you leave a comment.

Love your make-it-work spirit, Bobby! Your ink spatters and enamel dots are just as good as the retail versions.

Fabulous splatter! I must try that as when I use mists I just end up with a big blob in the middle of my card! LOL!
