Happy Sunday everyone!
I was intrigued by Beverley Brown's card that was the inspiration for Muse this week.
I love the look of the whitewashed, then colored images on kraft cardstock. I didn't want to do butterflies and the only image I had that was open enough to color (except a couple of flowers) was my WPlus9 quilt print.
I white embossed the sentiment from PTI and I chose it because I had a sentiment I wanted to put inside that is computer generated.
I took a piece of the stamp, colored it with markers and stamped inside.
I also have a card for the Time Out challenge, CASE Donna Mikasa's card. And a lovely card it is, too.
I thought about this one for a while, knowing I could do the colored background but wondering what else to do with it. Then it hit me. Let's reverse the idea. So instead of gold on top, I did gold underneath.
Do you want to know why I did mine in reverse color order? When I adhered the PTI coverplate to the gold foil, a piece of tape stuck out and when I tried to scratch it off, it took off some of the gold. I had already planned to do the square sentiment in the lower right corner and had my piece all inked with Mustard Seed and edged with Ripe Persimmon. I changed direction and inked a new piece with Picked Raspberries and put it in the left corner to cover the boo boo. Save! The sentiment from MFT is embossed in gold.
It feels good to get a couple of cards made and I actually made another one for my grandson but it is similar to one I posted earlier so I won't show it. Meanwhile I'm going great guns on my quilt so all is not lost.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great week ahead.
