Double D - Christmas Animals

I have a number of Penny Black Christmas animal stamps so I pulled one out for the challenge at Double D.

It gave me a chance to do some alcohol marker coloring and heaven knows I need practice.  I cut the kitty with a circle from MFT and then cut a larger circle in red to frame it out..  The sentiment is from the same set.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you take time to stop the busyness and enjoy the season.

AAA Birthday #53

I'm back home in my craft studio so I should be able to use more of my crafty stash but the card for AAA Birthday is one I made before I left.  I knew I wanted to play with my Heart Hugs animals from Honey Bee and this is what I did.

The bear was cut from kraft and colored with Distress Ink for shadows and dimension.  Both the balloon and the heart are from the set and were cut from red, with Glossy Accents on the balloon and black glaze pen on the nose and eyes. The sentiment is from Altenew.

I'm so glad you dropped by.  I love it when you do.

Less is More #232 and Time Out #35

Less is More = one layer masculine card.  I'm not one to usually do a one layer card but masculine I can handle.

Time Out = Nature with the optional twist of animals.  This is what sparked my creation.  What better stamp set to use than PB's Nature's Friends.  And I can do it in one layer.  Yay!

I started by stamping the tree and deer with HA India Black Ink, using my MISTI so I could get a really good impression.  I cut some scrap paper for my hill and used it as a mask while I inked my background with a variety of Distress Inks.  When it was good and dry, I stamped and clear embossed the sentiment from SSS.  I must admit it came out even better than I thought it would.

Thank you for stopping by.  I appreciate it when you do.

Freshly Made #194

There's so much you can do with this sketch from Freshly Made.  Pretty open to interpretation, right?

I wanted to play with my Ziggies again so I used the sketch as a jumping off point and colored the little tiger from my NBUS Wild Thing from Clearly Besotted.

Stitched Squares from SSS cut the cream and tiger striped paper that are layered on Neenah Desert Storm.  I popped up the tiger on one square and instead of a ribbon, I stamped the "roar" sentiment a number of times across a scrap.  Don't ask me how many times I tried to stamp that little strip to get the words lined up. It's still not perfect but it got to the point of 'use it as it is or give it up entirely.'   In the photo it looks like it's placed on there crooked but it's just the angle. I don't have a decent space to stand my cards up and get good light so I lay them down.  For some reason that gives them a distorted shape.

Thanks for stopping by.  Your visits and comments make my day.

The cat's meow

I usually use my DS to cut all my carts so I'm not sure of the size but the cat was cut from Cindy Loo as was the scalloped oval.  The bottom layer was cut in brown for the facial features and feet.  The next layer was cut from a cream, and the main layer from DCWV stack called textures and finishes.  I thought it looked like fur.  I substituted a bow where the flower was on the head and used dimensionals to raise it up both the pink oval and the cat.  Inside it says "Have a purr-fect birthday!"
