Fusion and Curtain Call

Some of you know that I am a quilter so I was excited to see that the Curtain Call photo inspiration this week was a quilt.

I have quite a collection of quilts - some I made and others I've collected.  There's something about mixing patterns and color and bits and pieces.  Sound familiar?  We do that with our paper crafting, too, although one blogger friend mentioned that it's much cheaper to do it in paper and I agree.  Today I stamped my quilt instead of paper piecing.  Yes, I said I stamped it.  Big shocker.  While I have WPlus9's quilt dies, I also have their quilt print stamp.

I didn't want to put anything over the quilt that would cover it up, so I cut it apart and popped it up over a sentiment by MFT.

My other card is for Fusion

and I fused.

It looks like the butterfly wings are transparent and showing the paper through but I actually colored the vellum to match the paper, or rather matched the paper to the colored vellum.  Sort of like - which came first, the chicken or the egg.

My Papertrey Ink order just arrived so I'm anxious to open the package and try out my NBUS.  Thanks for stopping by and come back tomorrow when I'll have more to show you.

CFC #121 and MUSE #45

I've been playing around with some of my new stuff and out of the play came a couple of cards.  Today's is for CASual Fridays where the cue is "use 8 of something"

and Muse where the inspiration card from Lucy looks like this:

One of the things included in the Simon Says Stamp Holiday Card Kit was the Ashlynn snowflake die and that's what I used for most of the card.

I cut 3 snowflakes from blue cardstock (it is actually lighter IRL) and mounted the panel on some white glitter paper from DCWV, putting in the blue centers.   Then I cut 3 snowflakes from the same paper and glued them on top of the panel.  I tried embossing one of my little snowflakes to make up the other two but they didn't look very good, so I cut two other snowflakes using my Cricut, and glued them over the top of the "mistakes".   The sentiment, stamped in Hero Arts Cornflower, is from My Craft Spot.

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Creating!

HA to ATCAS

Addicted to CAS is celebrating their 1st Anniversary.  "How time flies" is rather cliche but apropos.  So guess what their Code Word is?

I'm afraid I wasn't too inspired by the time I got around to making this card but you can't deny it's clean and simple.

I only have a couple of anniversary stamps and they are rather small so I cut a big sentiment with my Cricut and put it on some subtly printed paper.  It's not very romantic but then this isn't an especially romantic occasion.  I just want to wish Addicted to CAS a happy anniversary and give kudos for having such a fun challenge.

Uh oh, this is the end of my cards that I made last weekend.  I'd better get busy or some challenges will pass my by, and there are a couple I really want to enter.  I also need to do some homework for the online card class, Holiday Workshop 2013.  Those talented designers have so many fabulous ideas that I need to try.

I'm glad you stopped by.  Happy card making!

ATCAS 8 & CASOS 4

When I saw the challenge on Addicted to CAS was wings, I knew I wanted to do a butterfly.   Then the CAS on Sunday challenge called for butterflies.  How fortuitous!  So here it is - my butterfly card.

The "Monarch" was cut from the MS Elegant Cake cartridge in black card stock and then orange vellum.  I attached only the body so the wings make him look like he's in flight.  The sentiment is computer generated.

BCA2 for BBTB2

I did what I said I was going to do yesterday.  I spent it making cards and got four done.  Four doesn't seem like many but I did them all in the afternoon so I felt like I did a good job.  I'll be posting them right away because they were all for challenges that are due shortly.  I may even have to post two in one day just to get them in.  Sometimes I think I'm obsessed with these challenges.  Okay, I admit it.  I AM obsessed with them but as long as I don't let other things go just to get cards done, I'm still somewhat sane.

I wasn't sure I had a good way to make a card for a Breast Cancer Awareness challenge because I don't have any images that would work.  But there's always fonts, right?  So I looked through my carts and came up with this card for the Bitten By the Bug2 challenge.

The font is from MS Elegant Cakes and the BCA ribbon is a flourish from Cindy Lou with a tail cut off.  The lacy border is punched and wrapped with pink ribbon.
