CAS(E) This Sketch #157 and OCC

This sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch had me stumped for quite some time. The link closes in the morning and I just came up with an idea today.  Take a look at the sketch.
What do you think?  The obvious is clouds and sun but I didn't want to do the obvious.  I did this instead.
I have another valentine ready with this set from SSS.

I also have another card from my Online Card Class homework.  In an earlier post I made this card with a couple of pears on it.  Then one of the homework assignments was to make a card with pears.  I can see how the class card is a little better although I can still improve.
I wish I'd marked which were the first ones I did so I could see if I at least got better as I went along.

I've been spending so much time practicing my homework that I haven't had much time, or any ideas, for other cards except the one at the beginning of the post.  Most of that homework isn't worth showing but I'll keep at it and you might see something now and then.

Time Out #38

I've had this card for Time Out made for over a week and am just now getting around to posting it. That's what happens when you get an idea immediately for a two week challenge. Other challenges take priority.

I had this paper from a SSS kit and knew I waned to use it, so I incorporated my new SSS tag die with the Sending Happy Thoughts stamps and die and voila'. Nothing nautical about this but it was the colors and stripes I was inspired by.

Thanks to Michele, I'm also sending this to CASology.

CASology 110

Things have been pretty busy around here this week.  My brother and his wife were visiting from North Carolina for a few days, which meant we all went junking.  You've seen the American Pickers, right?  These two put Frank and Mike to shame.

My sister and I also toured a couple of skilled nursing facilities in preparation for admitting our parents.  It's never an easy thing to do but I think we've found a great place that they will be comfortable in.  Now it's just a waiting game until a spot opens up.

I did take a little time today to do a card for CASology.  I haven't played with them for a while but when I saw the cue word, I knew I had just the stamp set to use.

Everything is from my NBUS set from SSS called Sending Happy Thoughts.  I knew I wanted to emboss the background and the Geo Squares folder was perfect.  It had all the little sections I could pop up the envelopes on.  The most difficult part was in deciding how to do the sentiment.  The little "happy thoughts" was a given but how to do the "sending" had me stumped for a while.  I played around with paper until I decided I could cut a piece that would cover the design in the upper left corner.  I used my 1/4" corner chomper to make it look like the rest of the squares and stamped the word in the middle with HA Navy ink, which I also used on the other two word phrases.  A little red heart to add a pop of color and I'm thinking this says letter with an S.

I have another card in the works and some stamp sets out for a a couple more but I may need to clean my desk off first.  I only allow it to get just so messy and then it's time to organize.  Well, maybe I'll make the cards first and then organize.  Which is exactly why it's a mess.  lol

Thanks for stopping by.  I love reading your comments so I hope you leave one.
