Pretty in Pink

Today is the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.

I just happened to do something for the online card class that qualifies for the challenge.

This card was a case of making a mistake and making do.  I made my own stencil from PTI's Happy Hexagons.  I taped the stencil down well but not the paper so it shifted when I was doing the bottom half of the card.  I trimmed it up to 3.75 x 3.75 and put it on a 4.25 square white base.  The hearts are cut from PTI dies and stamped with a sentiment from My Craft Spot.  Using Distress Inks, I started with Spun Sugar at the top and faded it into Picked Raspberry near the bottom.  One Valentine done.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day.

I'm taking this stenciling class too, but I've yet to make a card for it. So many things to do and so little time! I love this background and it's perfect for showing off the hearts!

You would never know! I like the hexies in a square though. The hexagons are more similar to a square than a rectangle, so maybe that's why they look so good in a square format.

With the soft ombre effect on this card, no one would know that the stencil had shifted and it didn't turn out ezackly like you had planned. It's really lovely, Bobby! Hugs, Darnell

Love when you can save a booboo and turn it into a beauty! I really like the gradient look of the pink hexagons and the tiny polka dots on the heart.

Love the stenciled background Bobby - it has a great gradient of color! I'm really enjoying the Stenciled class too & need to spend some time tonight going through the galleries.
