Watercolor Homework

Happy Mother's Day to you!  Whether you are a mother, aunt, or mentor, you are honored today for the influence you have on young lives.  Celebrate the day with those you love.
--------------------------------
I started this post yesterday before my daughter arrived.  I had time to practice some watercolor techniques from the Online Card Class while waiting for her.

It's crazy but my first attempt with my NBUS Penny Black Petal Power stamps came out great.

The stem is water to ink and the flower is water to marker.  The sentiment is my just-arrived-today Stampendous set.  I saw this sentiment on Julie Bowman's blog Stamping to Escape and she was kind enough to find the maker and even a sale on it at JoAnn's.  Thank you, Julie.  I cut it with the tipped tops by PTI and mounted it on Summer Sunrise cardstock.

-----------------------

It was such a beautiful day yesterday, we took my mother outside in a wheelchair to go for a walk.  Then the 5 generations of us sat out in front of the house for a long time just enjoying the warm air and the company of one another.  I haven't seen my mother so "alive" in quite a while.  I think there will be a repeat performance today as long as the weather holds.

Wowsers! This is just lovely, Bobby! It looks like you could pluck the flower right off the front of the card. Sounds like your family time made lovely memories. A perfect Mother's Day. Bev

This card is absolutely gorgeous. Brilliant with the water colors. And, I can see why you tried so hard to track down this sentiment. It's a great one, and so unique.
