JUGS #256

I've been busy working in my craft room but with so many interruptions, a lack of inspiration and cards gone wrong, I haven't had much to post.  I just HAD to have a card for the Just Us Girls challenge this week and you'll find out why on Saturday.  How's that for a teaser?

I saw a lot of shaped cards by the design team and in the gallery but when I make something other than an A2 card I usually do what I call a Monarch card.  I call it that because that's what the paper company calls their 7 1/2 by 3 7/8 envelopes.  I don't think I've made many cards this shape since I bought the envelopes over 3 years ago.

I cut my paper 7 inches square and fold it in half.  The "smile" is from PTI's Splat and then I used stamps from their Beautiful Brushstrokes addition for the other circles, using HA soft cantaloupe, lemon chiffon and soft brown.   While this seems like an easy one layer card, there were a few mishaps.  Some unwanted ink got on the card in a couple of places so I added the smaller dots and then wasn't sure I liked them.  Sequins to the rescue.  I just happened to have some that were the perfect color that came as a little gift with an order.

I'm glad you stopped by.  It's always nice to have visitors, especially when they leave comments.  It makes my day to read them.

  1. Adore the simplicity of this card as well as those fun circles and colour combo. Thanks for joining us at Just Us Girls.

  2. You are such a tease lol.... Super cute card and I am in agreement with Marisa... Love the simple works well!!!

  3. LOVE this!! Simple(?) one-layer cards are often the hardest, aren't they? I love your colors and your arrangement of the dots - the sequins are a great final touch.
