Inkspirational #348

The challenge at Inkspirational is Clean and Simple with the option of flowers.  You know I had to make a card 1. because it's flowers and 2. because I was honored with a top pick in the last challenge.

Any one who reads my blog knows I love daisies and this one from SSS is called Sunrise Stem, cut in white and colored with Distress Inks.  White space doesn't have to be white so I put it on a yellow background embossed with a plate from STAMPlorations.  The sentiment is from BetterPress.

Edited to Add:  I just saw the challenge at Krafty Chicks and am going to send this card to their CAS Challenge #782.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a wonderful week!

Time Out #290 - Pick Two

It's time for another Pick Two challenge at Time Out

There are six options and you need to pick at least two to incorporate onto your card.  Please let us know which ones you picked in your description.

I picked repeat, weather and bold.  My repeat is the three umbrellas from MFT which are cut from bold paper and for the weather I used translucent paste through a raindrop stencil for the background. (You may have to zoom in to see them.) To fit all the umbrellas, I made a mini-slimline card.  I didn't have any kind of sentiment that would work so I generated one on the computer, outlining it with a black border to make it show up.

I'd love to see your Pick Two in our gallery.

Just Us Girls #629 - Photo Week

Cecile is hosting the challenge and this is what she chose for Photo Week at Just Us Girls.

You can chose the colors, the stones, the wonderful sentiments or whatever inspires you.  I mixed them all in my colorful card.

I used a SSS stencil and a variety of Distress Inks for my background.  Then I went looking for some sentiments and found these by My Sentiments Exactly.  I'm not sure I've ever used them before but they worked perfectly to put in the largest circles. I placed the panel on a piece of gray cardstock to pay homage to the wicker basket in the photo.

You must stop by and see what the Design Team and our guest Mac Mable did with this photo.  You will see some very creative makes and hopefully they will inspire you to add a card to our gallery.

Just Us Girls #537 - Photo Week

I'm responsible for choosing the photo for this week's challenge at Just Us Girls and I hope I don't scare you away.
The minute I saw this I thought of my STAMPlorations stencil and based my card on the chairs.  But look closely.  There are fish and plants, candles and oranges.  I can't wait to see what inspires you.
Using Fine Linen cardstock, I inked the stencil with Antique Linen Distress Ink so I could see the images and then colored them with alcohol markers. The panel was cut with a stitched rectangle, mounted on blue with a sentiment from Altenew.

Need inspiration?  The Design Team has some waiting for you.

CAS Colours and Sketches #367

I've had CAS Colours and Sketches on my challenge list for a while but I'm not sure I've ever entered a card.  Today I have one using these colors.
The first thing I thought of when I saw the colors was my Altenew tulip, that is stamped in Altenew ink. I added blue behind a TH die cut and used a PB sentiment.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you are safe and healthy and keep smiling.

Just Us Girls #495 - Word Week

Another month is upon us and another Word Week is ready for you at Just Us Girls.  This week Angie has chosen:

I had a panel that I stamped at Michele's and decided to turn it into a card for this challenge.
The stamp is from Altenew and their inks were used to color it.  I wanted a different look so the panel was cut with rectangle and arced dies from SSS to let the DSP show around the edges and in the corners.  The sentiment is from another Altenew set.

There are a variety of cards inspired by this week's word made by the Design Team and our guest designer Emma DelFosse. We hope you'll make one too.  If you are chosen Chic of the Week, you could be a future guest designer.

CASology #328

If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours.  There will be plenty of smiles to go around at the CASology challenge this week.

An EZPS QACAS card using an ancient sentiment from Hero Arts.

I'm smiling because you dropped by.  I hope you find something to smile about today.

Less Is More #323

I have a card today for Less Is More.  It's a one layer challenge with curves as the focus.
The first stamp that came to mind is this one from CP.  It's embossed in black sparkle and as you can see there are some residual specks but in this case I think it looks okay.  It's like butterfly dust. ;)  The butterfly is from the same set and his wings have been inked with Zigs.  The sentiment is from PB.
Here's a little close-up of the sparkle.

I have some friends who are in need of prayers and uplifting thoughts so this will go to one of them. I'll have a prayer card ready for tomorrow.

Thanks for dropping by.

Tag You're It! #66

Maureen Merritt is the guest designer at Tag You're It! Here's the tag she made for our inspiration.
I have the same stamp set that Maureen used so I pretty much CASEd her card with different colors and sentiment.
The stamps and dies are from Catherine Pooler and I used Altenew inks. The sentiment is from Penny Black.

Each member of the Design Team have made a tag inspired by Maureen's and are waiting for you to do the same.  Check them out at Tag You're It!

CAS(E) This Sketch #132

I've been doing a lot of serious cards of late, many of them with flowers.  Today I went silly and fun, using the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch.

The monkey is from Clearly Besotted, colored with Distress Inks.  The Polaroid die from PTI, cut in cardstock and coaster board make the frame with a scrap of embossed green for the background. The sentiment is from PTI stamped in HA Soft Brown and it's all mounted on Neenah Desert Storm.

This card is for all of you cyber friends who visit my blog and leave wonderfully supportive comments.  You never cease to make me smile and I'm sending it right back to you.

CASology # 113

It's a bit of a rainy Sunday here, a good time for some blogging and card making.  First I must post one of the cards I had a chance to make yesterday.

When I first saw the cue word "grass" at CASology, I knew I had a grass stamp that I could use.  It's from Technique Tuesday and in the DVD case with it was the chickadee stamp set.  A match made in the craft room heaven. :D

Since I couldn't help but smile looking at that silly long-legged bird, I decided to use that as my sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by.  I love reading your comments so I hope you'll leave one.

JUGS #256

I've been busy working in my craft room but with so many interruptions, a lack of inspiration and cards gone wrong, I haven't had much to post.  I just HAD to have a card for the Just Us Girls challenge this week and you'll find out why on Saturday.  How's that for a teaser?

I saw a lot of shaped cards by the design team and in the gallery but when I make something other than an A2 card I usually do what I call a Monarch card.  I call it that because that's what the paper company calls their 7 1/2 by 3 7/8 envelopes.  I don't think I've made many cards this shape since I bought the envelopes over 3 years ago.

I cut my paper 7 inches square and fold it in half.  The "smile" is from PTI's Splat and then I used stamps from their Beautiful Brushstrokes addition for the other circles, using HA soft cantaloupe, lemon chiffon and soft brown.   While this seems like an easy one layer card, there were a few mishaps.  Some unwanted ink got on the card in a couple of places so I added the smaller dots and then wasn't sure I liked them.  Sequins to the rescue.  I just happened to have some that were the perfect color that came as a little gift with an order.

I'm glad you stopped by.  It's always nice to have visitors, especially when they leave comments.  It makes my day to read them.
