It's been a busy day today so I missed the deadline for a challenge although the card was done. I quickly made another card so I could enter Make It Monday - Stamping a Plaid Background. I tried it once before with little luck so this was the nudge I needed to try it again. Ashley Cannon Newell makes it look easy on her video. It wasn't quite that way for me but I did finally turn out an acceptable card.
I used PTI's Basic Super Stripes with Hero Arts ink. The sentiment from SSS is cut out of a panel cut with Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles and backed with a scrap of red. My sewing eye says the plaids aren't even but it was either go with it as is or not do it at all. I love the plaid so will be practicing this technique some more.
Thanks for stopping by. Your visits and comments are always appreciated.

Bobby, I love your plaid...it's gorgeous. I really need to go have a look at Ashley's video.
I think you did a wonderful job on that plaid background, Bobby! A beautiful Christmas plaid!
Wonderful plaid, and I like how you made your sentiment. I love plaid, too, but did not get a chance to watch or play this week.
Have to agree with you, Bobby, that Ashley made it look so easy. Yours looks great, and only you would know if it wasn't perfect. Great card!
I have no stripes!!

Gorgeous plaid background, Bobby ... love that crisp red and white sentiment panel against it! So wanted to play along this week ... just ran out of time! Anita :)
Bobby, seriously, the plaid turned out amazingly well! Love your simple sentiment that doesn't at all compete with your stamped plaid. It looks like a wrapped present!
Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving with you folks ... how fun to take the dinner to them, along with quite a crowd! I bet they were the talk of the nursing home that week : )
This looks so sharp! I love the way the sentiment looks on the plaid. I thought the plaid was paper so I'm beyond impressed at this point - even if you're not!!
