MIM #195

It's not often you miss a challenge deadline and get to use that card on another post.  That time came around for me with Make It Monday's A la Carte challenge.  You can choose any of the 50 video techniques from 2014 and do a card.  I hope I can use the card from the original challenge since I never posted it.

The challenge is #159, No Sew Quilted cards, with a video by Dawn McVey.  You know the minute I saw "quilt" I had to do a card.

The papers are from a My Mind's Eye 6 x 6 pack, all cut with PTI's Building Blocks die.  I fit them in a rail fence pattern on a scrap of cardstock and ran it through my Cuttlebug with an embossing mat and Harlequin coverplate.  You have to look closely to see the indentations that make it look like it's been quilted.  I stamped a sentiment from PTI's Inside Out Well Wishes on vellum with Classic Kraft ink, wrapped that around the quilted panel and mounted it onto kraft cardstock.

I've been fighting a head cold for five days now and the fog limits my ability to be very creative.  I may spend this snowy day organizing some of my new items so that when I feel better I can get right to work.

Thanks for stopping by and for all your lovely comments and support during the past year.  I hope you all have a  healthy and happy 2015.

This is gorgeous. I am inspired to try something like this. Love how it really looks like a quilt. Fabulous way to combine your two hobbies. Or should I say 2 of your hobbies? Sorry you are not feeling well. Hope you feel better soon.

You're right, this is just up your alley! The harlequin cover plate is a good choice to get even more of a quilted look. I do the same when I'm not feeling creative ... clean so my space is ready when I am : )
